Quote of the day: The Dems' third-place finisher in Iowa says a mouthful

>

"Today we are sending a clear message for change, and that change will be a Democrat in the White House in 2009."
--Sen. Hillary Clinton, in Iowa last night

[Or something pretty close to that, as heard on the radio this morning.]

UPDATE FROM BANGKOK

And as this morning's NY Post points out, "more than 70 percent of Iowa Democrats rejected Hillary's bid to get back into the White House. And so, after 15 years of domination, the Clinton dynasty has finally lost its grip on the Democratic Party." The Post's mouth to God's ears. The Obama campaign was built around real change-- and that included not just no more Bushes, but no more Clintons as well-- and hope. His landslide among young people was the hope part.

I couldn't help but notice that CNN's reports are about 60% about Hickabee-- maybe 70%-- and the rest about Obama. Isn't that strange? Almost double the number of Democrats voted than Republicans-- and Huckabee actually came in 4th after Obama, Edwards and Hillary. I wonder if anyone will tell CNN. The NY Times coverage seems a bit more balanced and in sync with reality. Adam Nagourney, appropriately, doesn't bother mentioned the huckster from Arkansas 'til the 4th paragraph. The rest of the story was mostly about the real news: Obama, not the footnote that CNN is concentrating on.--Howie

Doesn't it go against your core belief system to have an image of the New York Post, a conservative newspaper owned by Rupert Murdoch on your blog?? You may get drummed out of the Young Socialist Utopians for One World club don't you think? What next?? Links to Bill O'Reilly's "Talking Points"?

CNN knows exactly what is happening. They are trying to protect their gal Hillary and will shy away as much as possible from the miserable night she had in Iowa!

Al, you dumb fuck, shut up.

I hope to God that poor Obama can overcome the Republican slime machine that's gearing up to brand him a Muslim Manchurian Candidate. My friend has family in Florida that's already sending her e-mails that "reveal Obama's secret Muslim life!" I really, really wanna like Obama but he hasn't shown me that he can throw the mud right back in the Gay Ol' Party's face. I don't have much hope he will...his politics of "hope" look an awful like Dukakis and Kerry's politics of "oh, the American people are intelligent enough to see through the G.O.P.'s lies so I don't have to respond". Say what you will about the Clintons (and I too can say an awful lot that's not nice) but at least they know how to beat the retards at the R.N.C. at their own sick game.
