We've had other presidents with mental health issues. Some, like Nixon, were more than a little paranoid. Some say Reagan suffered from dementia, but, really, was it he who suffered? LBJ seems to have been barely able to keep his ego in check, and Bill Clinton's OCD need to be loved extended way too far. But Señor Trumpanzee? Well, Americans have always looked at the headcases that have run other countries from time to time and wondered what would happen if a completely, utterly insane person, a person completely untethered to reality, made it to the oval office. What if America had an Idi Amin, a Kim Jong-un or his father Kim Jong-il, a Hitler, a Qaddafi, a George III, a Ne Win, or a Ceausescu? Well, now we know. As exemplified by Trump's Insane Clown tour of Asia, the embarrassment, and more importantly, the destruction is growing exponentially every day. That's not to say that Trump is, or will become a cannibal like Uganda's Idi Amin, or take nightly baths dolphin blood like Burma's Ne Wen, but every insane person is different and every insane person gets worse once given power. The world will be lucky if Trump ends up being only as bad as George III whose insanity cost England the American colonies.

Commenting on the tragedy in Sutherland Springs, Texas, Trump said on Sunday:

We have a lot of mental health problems in our country, as do other countries, but this isn't a guns situation. This is a mental health problem at the highest level.

Yes. This is definitely a mental health problem at the highest level. Trump was being unwittingly honest, for maybe the first time in his life. That may even be an indication that he is losing control completely. "This isn't a guns situation?" Back in February, when his administration wasn't even a month old, his insane obsession with undoing every single accomplishment of his predecessor led him to reverse a policy of that predecessor by signing a Republican bill that allowed mentally ill people like himself to more easily buy guns. President Obama's resolution would have prevented an estimated 75,000 mentally ill people from buying guns. The Obama resolution had become law in reaction to the Newtown, CT massacre of school children and teachers, an occurrence that many Trump supporters, sick in the head themselves, will tell you was a hoax. One can only wonder how many more Devon Patrick Kelly's are out there right now taking advantage of Trump and his party's action and their decision to put more military grade weapons in the hands of the mentally ill. Sunday it was a congregation of church goers. Who's next?

Of course, not all of this has come about due to the insanity of Trump and his party. Some Republicans are sane, at least relatively. Those are the ones who are willing to let crazies buy all the guns they want, as long as the gun manufacturers lobby simply stuffs their own pockets with the literal 30 pieces of silver, and more, much, much more. Bribed and lunatic politicians alike also miss the irony of their calling for new immigration bans and extreme vetting when a Muslim kills people with a gun or a truck but not calling for bans on the mentally ill, or even extreme vetting, when a mentally ill person kills. This is a reflection of being mentally ill all by itself. It's "a mental health problem at the highest level."
