NOT AS GOOD AS IMPEACHMENT BUT... EQUALLY IMPORTANT
>
I don't think you have to be clairvoyant to know what kind of fate I'd like to see for George Bush, Dick Cheney and many of their cronies and lackeys. Impeachment would be a good place to start. But impeachment is also something separate from well-deserved punishment. In fact, impeachment is way more important than even a nice long stay in that secret camp in the bowels of Guantanamo. Why? In short, denazification can't seriously begin until the crimes of the Bush Regime have been dragged out into the light. Nancy Pelosi and the political calculations of the Insider Democrats around her have guaranteed that that won't happen.
Steven Aftergood has an interesting proposal at Nieman Watchdog today. He suggests that "the next president should open up the Bush Administration's record."
The next President will have the authority to declassify and disclose any and all records that reflect the activities of executive branch agencies. Although internal White House records that document the activities of the outgoing President and his personal advisers will be exempt from disclosure for a dozen years or so, every Bush Administration decision that was actually translated into policy will have left a documentary trail in one or more of the agencies, and all such records could be disclosed at the discretion of the next President.
A new President may find it advantageous to quickly distinguish himself (or herself) from the current Administration and its policies. By exposing what is “shameful” in our recent past the new Administration could demonstrate a clean break with its predecessor, and lay the foundation for a more transparent and accountable Presidency.

Same was true in "92" and we all know what happened when Clinton had a chance to expose Pappy Bush's Iran Contra scam. Nothing.
I once had an argument with my 2 sisters about whether Bush and Cheney were actually evil ( I said no) I have since changed my mind.
I'm in PA so I have not yet voted.
But one of the many reasons I don't trust HRC has to do with her "willingness" to reach across the aisle. Yeah right it.Her old man turned a blind eye to Poppy Bushs
illegalities I assume that she would do the same for junior

Any comments on this?

If only we could have faith that the Dems in DC would do that. The other thing is: Who says there will be any records left once Obama or Clinton assume the WH? We know that the Bushies destroy as much email as they can.

By "any comments" I assume you mean
how do most of us here at DWT respond to a male Democrat caught in a sexual act with a minor?? I have a kid not much older.
First of all I have no way of knowing whether it was consensual or not. If it was then McGee was stupid to have sex with a minor. Republicans don't have a lock on stupidity although they sure seem to have a lot more Larry Craig type sex than Democats. If it wasn't consensual then he should be punished just like all the other Republicans caught with their private parts in some elses' orifice.
One big difference between Republicans and Democrats is that for the most part we Democrats don't think gay sex is a shonda (a shame, a pity in yiddish)
