GOVERNOR PHIL? WE NEED TO DO MORE THAN JUST CROSS OUR FINGERS

>

I've written before about what a tragedy it would be for Californians to forget, in light of the criminality of the Bush Regime and the rubber stamp Congress, how truly terrible our own grotesquely corrupt governor is. Yes, he's not Bob Taft of Ohio and, true, he hasn't been convicted or even indicted, like other Republican governors. But is that a reason to re-elect him? Arnold Schwarzenegger is a truly horrible fit for California and Phil Angelides would make an excellent chief executive for our state.

Yesterday a group of California bloggers officially launched GovernorPhil.com. The site is a group effort featuring California-focused bloggers from around the state. They are attempting to bring some much needed attention and interactivity to Phil Angelides' campaign for California Governor. Supporters of Phil Angelides are encouraged to comment and get involved in the election to get a true progressive elected as our next Governor.

More than you know is riding on this election. For example, Governor Schwarzenegger is today attempting to gut AB 32, greenhouse gas emissions legislation. Schwarzenegger has lulled many Democrats and independent both in and outside of California into thinking he's moderate. He's not. He convinced many people inside and outside California that he would terminate special interests; instead he has accepted millions upon millions of special interests dollars from big oil, big business, etc and consistently sided against California's workers and families and with his special interest donors.

Remember he is an actor, at least that is his credential. Keeping that in mind, how would one out produce and out script him? I am not saying that Angelides needs to be phoney, but I am saying that flash will be the weapon of choice for the current Governator.

Angelides needs to find a way to flash and also sound and be governor like. He is not debating a run of the politician.

Backdrops and settings need to be paid attention to. Editing and production need to be top notch. He must have a speech writer and a coach.

There is money in them thar hills, one must spend it on what one needs.

And, one needs to get his internet mojo working.

Howie, please check out Henry Rollins at henryrollins.ifc.com
and click on "teeing off". He rips the ant-net neutrality jerks but even better is his body slam of the "over-fed Baby Huey cowards like Karl Rove and Sean Hannity who say that if you question authority you're anti-American and in league with terrorists. Fuck You!" Well, its even better when you listen to him say it.

Not a fan of his band. I'm more of a Neil Young and SRV fan. But, damn is that powerful. Its exactly how to respond to this BS instead of the "shame on you!" or EJ Dionnes well intentioned "Mr. Bush should rethink this" wimpy crap.

thanks!

The possibility of unseating Ahnuld would seem more likely if people like DiFi's campaign co-chair weren't endorsing him. Please see:
