EVERYBODY SAYS IMPEACH CHENEY FIRST

>

While Bob Wexler of Florida is proposing some kind of wrist slap against the impeachable Bush there is finally some real action towards eradicating the stain on our national honor. Admittedly, I don't get out much, but everywhere I do go people say "Impeach Cheney First." I'm not much of a Kucinich fan but I admired him for introducing a resolution to impeach Cheney, H. Res 333. Currently Kucinich has 13 co-sponsors from progressive shining stars like Yvette Clarke (NY), Jesse Jackson, Jr, (IL), Hank Johnson (GA), Jan Schakowwsky (IL) and Keith Ellison (MN) to corporate hacks trying to ingratiate themselves to the voters, like Al Wynn (MD).

Yesterday Glenn Greenwald painted a picture of the demise of the prestige of our great country under this foul regime. Much of this dangerous collapse is directly due to the anti-democratic manipulations of Dick Cheney. No one doubts it was Cheney-- to protect himself and Rove from possible trial and imprisonment on treason charges-- who pushed Bush to pardon Irving Libby (AKA- "Scooter"), itself another impeachable offense to cover up a beyond-impeachable offense (blindfold, last cigarette, marksmen... "Ready, Aim...").

This morning Robert Greenwald's outfit, BraveNewFilms, on behalf of a large coalition of activist groups from around the country, has launched a short video and petition drive aimed at pushing forward H. Res 333 and the impeachment of Cheney (first). “Vice President Cheney misled the American people into war in Iraq and is attempting to mislead us into war with Iran. He regularly disregards the Constitution and the laws that make this country great” said Director Robert Greenwald. “It’s high time Cheney be held accountable.” You can sign the petition at ImpeachCheney.org. First watch the 3 minute clip:

UPDATE: ONLY 17% OF REPUBLICANS WANT CHENEY IMPEACHED. BUT THE SAME POLL SHOWS 54% OF AMERICANS WANT CONGRESS TO START IMPEACHMENT HEARINGS IMMEDIATELY

A new poll from the American Research Group shows that 54% of Americans want Congress to start impeachment proceeding against Cheney now. Over half the independents in the country join about three-quarters of all Democrats in this point of view. Someone should tell Pelosi she's in a tiny minority.

Hell yeah. The man is a cancer on your body politic and it's time for radical surgery.

The problem with impeaching Cheney first is that Bush will replace him with someone else just as bad. Not only will that NOT help the country, but that new person will have an undeserved leg up in the election.

No, I don't agree. BUSH is the one who's in charge, and BUSH has to be the one to go. Better yet, impeach both of them.

Besides, remember what happened when Agnew got kicked out - his replacement pardoned Nixon!! What a disgrace that was. We can't allow something like that to happen again.

Impeach Bush AND Cheney.
