OH, PLEASE SAY IT ISN'T SO! RUMORS ABOUT FRED THOMPSON'S SEXUALITY ARE TOO MUCH FOR THIS EARLY IN THE MORNING

DC yenta, Wonkette, has floated a rumor that Freddy Thompson, known more for his "colorful and wide-ranging sex life" than for his slimy life as a lobbyist, is... gay. McConnell (R-KY) is gay. Larry Craig (R-ID) is gay. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is gay. David Dreier (R-CA), Jim McCrery (R-LA), Patrick McNutcase (R-NC)... but Freddy Thompson? I don't think so. And unless Andrew Sullivan or Wonkette or BlogActive has pictures, I'm just going to shut that idea right out of my mind. It was hard enough to fall asleep last night after watching the Lil Bush marathon on Comedy Central which featured the episode that delves into the roots of George Bush's homosexuality. But at least with Bush you could always see the desperation to cover up his desires. With Thompson... I just always thought he liked underage girls.

And all this on top of the latest polling data from Rasmussen that points to a tie in a Hillary Clinton electoral match-up with Freddy! So I asked a friend of mine who knows all the Republican closet cases in DC-- and he is never wrong-- and his comment: "I have heard that for a while." He's so understated. I just don't want to believe it.
