CHINA EXECUTES ANOTHER OFFICIAL FOR TAKING BRIBES TO ALLOW TAINTED PRODUCTS INTO THE MARKET. WHAT ABOUT McCONNELL?

>

No, I don't expect the Chinese government to execute the senior senator from Kentucky for his complicity in the flood of tainted Chinese products in America. If anything, he'll probably get the equivalent of the Chinese Medal of Honor. They love Miss McConnell over there in Beijing, Few U.S. Senators have ever sold out the interests of his own countrymen so openly as McConnell has in regard to patently unfair U.S. trade policies in China. But, of course, it's the American Republican Way-- and McConnell and his beard have gotten very, very wealthy while he served in the U.S. Senate

But the executives are hardly going to fix the problems endemic to the U.S.-China trade policies that have been orchestrated by McConnell, primarily to enhance his own wealth, and very much at the expense and safety of American citizens. The system, rooted in corruption, is just too tempting for the greedy, sticky fingers encouraged by the Bush Regime brand of unbridled, predatory capitalism.
For the second time in three months, a former high-ranking official at China’s top food and drug watchdog agency has been sentenced to death for corruption and approving bogus drugs, according to the state-run news media.

Cao Wenzhuang, who until 2005 was in charge of drug registration approvals at the State Food and Drug Administration, was accused of accepting over $300,000 in bribes from two pharmaceutical companies and helping undermine the public’s confidence in an agency that is supposed to be safeguarding the nation’s health.

Mr. Cao’s sentence was handed down by the No. 1 Intermediate Court in Beijing, less than two months after the same court sentenced Zheng Xiaoyu, the former head of the State Food and Drug Administration, to death for accepting $850,000 in bribes to help steer drug companies through various approval processes.

A bunch of other crooks of this sort were sentenced to long prison terms. Today's NY Times claims "the harsh penalties come at a time when China is under mounting international criticism over the quality and safety of its food and drugs." DWT readers know about the tainted pet food, toothpaste, seafood, etc that has been freely flowing into this country thanks to Republican "free market" ideology in practice and self-serving cooperation by Bush Regime middlemen like McConnell and Chao.

Finally, "last week, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration blocked imports of some Chinese seafood, including shrimp, catfish and eel, after seeing a sharp rise in Chinese seafood tainted with carcinogens and excessive antibiotic residues. But Chinese consumers are believed to be the primary victims of fake and substandard food and drugs, and the nation’s top regulators have been blamed with putting the public at risk by swapping cars, gifts and cash for granting licenses for drugs that in some cases have turned out to be deadly."

No, China isn't going to execute Miss McConnell-- and neither will the Bush Regime. Bush will probably reward him, Chao and the FDA for doing "a heck of a job."
