JIM McCRERY (R-LA) PREDICTS THAT BOB NEY (R-OH) WILL BE THE NEXT REPUBLICROOK FLUSHED DOWN THE TOILET

>

Louisiana Republican congressloon Jim McCrery usually tries to keep a low profile when he's sober. That's because he's a notorious closet case who has made a complete ass of himself trying to prove that he's straight. (An "anonymous" tipster once informed a slew of reporters that if they showed up at a South Carolina frat-bar they would be in for a great story. Instead they happened to find McCrery drunk, dancing on a table with a topless prostitute with her panties on his head. An on-the-record interview with one of his male lovers in the ADVOCATE told a very different-- and far more believable-- story.) Anyway, today McCrery uncharacteristically crawled out from under his rock and predicted that crooked Ohio Congressman Bob Ney will be the next right wing criminal to be indicted.

People have been wondering for months what has kept Ney out of prison for so long. With DeLay/Abramoff crime associate Michael Scanlon turning state's evidence on Ney last November, McCrery isn't exactly jumping to any wild conclusions. (Scanlon admitted bribing Ney.) Virtually everyone in Washington has been privately predicting that Ohio's most corrupt politician would be in prison before the next election.

According to a Gannett News report today, Ney-- like DeLay and, before they were indicted and started singin' like canaries, Abramoff and Cunningham-- claims he didn't do nothin' wrong. Ney's credibility-challenged spokesman, Brian Walsh, irrationally claims Ney maintains that he has done "absolutely nothing wrong" and that prosecutors have not told him that he is a target of the investigation (although by subpoenaing him in the Abramoff investigation, they may have been sending him a subtle message to that effect). "The congressman from Louisiana is certainly welcome to voice his opinion. I would point out, however, that he has no firsthand knowledge of the issues involved here, and I would further note that the constituents in Congressman Ney's district recognize ... that one is innocent until proven guilty." So take that, you homo!

Ney is involved with every single political scandal currently being investigated in both D.C. and Ohio. In fact, Ohio Democrats are thinking of using "Just Say Noe and Ney to Corruption" as a campaign slogan in November. Ney is the only congressman besides DeLay who could face charges stemming from the mafia style murder of Miami businessman/Abramoff ex-partner Konstantinos "Gus" Boulis.
