THE LAW IS FINALLY CATCHING UP WITH OHIO'S BOB NEY, A VICIOUS AND CORRUPT DELAY HENCHMAN

David Hammer, an A.P. reporter and no relation to indicted Republican crime chieftain Tom "The Hammer" DeLay, reports today on someone who is very closely related to DeLay, Ohio's most corrupt-- and if you know anything at all about the state of Ohio politics in the age of Bush, you know what a bold statement that is-- congressloon, Bob Ney. The law is finally closing in on Ney who is so tangled up in everything corrupt and rotten in Washington, from stealing from Indians to looting the Ohio Workmen's Compensation Fund to a Mafia-style murder in Florida, that he is widely acknowledged to be one of the 3 or 4 most sleazy and corrupt pols in America after DeLay himself! There is almost nothing dirty and illicit going on anywhere in government that Ney doesn't have his beak in.

So it comes as no surprise to anyone today that Ney was subpoenaed by the Justice Department to provide documents related to the government's investigation of his former best friend and closest associate indicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff. Brian Walsh, a flack who works for Ney, claimed today that Ney has not been notified that he is the target of any investigation and had informed House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL) of the subpoena. Smart money in DC has been betting that the ethicless Ney would be indicted before the 2006 elections and in prison soon afterwards.
