NY TIMES HINTS AT A MYSTERIOUS CHENEY/AL-QAEDA CONNECTION-- ARE IRVING LIBBY AND IBN AL-LIBI COUSINS? WHY WON'T BUSH JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION ?

>

Apparently Carl Levin (D-MI) slipped the NY TIMES some recently declassified material that shows BushCo's whole rationale for going to war was based on the incoherent squawkings of an al-Qaeda prisoner who may or may not have been a distant cousin of Irving Lewis Libby (aka- "Scooter"). The Cheney aide's cousin, Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi (aka- "Tricycle") "was intentionally misleading the debriefers in making claims about Iraqi support for al-Qaeda's work with illicit weapons" according to the TIMES. There are some who think this is part of an ancient tribal feud between the Libby and al-Libi branches which can be traced back to a time the entire family were Philistines living in one large tent and tending asses, goats and camels in what is now Gaza.

The TIMES reports that “the document provides the earliest and strongest indication of doubts voiced by American intelligence agencies about Mr. Libi's credibility. Without mentioning him by name, President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Colin L. Powell, then secretary of state, and other administration officials repeatedly cited Mr. Libi's information as ‘credible’ evidence that Iraq was training Al Qaeda members in the use of explosives and illicit weapons."

Did Irving vouch for his estranged cousin or not? No one in the Regime will confirm or deny, not even Sean Hannity, who will usually confirm or deny anything. Libi (Ibn) is in custody, apparently at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, where he was sent in 2003. Libby (Irv) is out on bail pending trial involving a serious case of treason against the U.S.
