IS THERE AN HONEST REPUBLICAN ANYWHERE? MORE GOP INDICTMENTS!

>

With Federal Grand Juries looking into Bush's closest political aide, Karl Rove, and Cheney's chief-of-staff, "Scooter" Libby, as well as into the entire state government of Ohio (Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, State Auditor... right on down) and into blatant corruption from powerful Republican congressmen Cunningham (CA) and Ney (OH), not to mention the Republican Majority Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives, Tom DeLay (TX), is it a stretch to wonder if there are any honest Republicans anywhere? Well, one place immediately eliminated from consideration would be Ohio's neighbor, Kentucky.

The grand jury that already started indicting crooked Republican pols last month just handed down some more indictments yesterday. What they were emplaneled to investigate is blatant political hiring and firing by Republican Gov. Ernie Fletcher, a real lowlife piece of work. Yesterday they indicted 3 more of his officials-- including his deputy chief of staff, Dick Murgatroyd.

Like all Republicrook whores caught stealing and cheating Fletcher, seeking to make himself look like a victim instead of the vicious criminal he is, charged through his flack that "This is a travesty of justice."

The investigation began in Kentucky-- where the GOP does NOT control every office in the state (the way they do in Ohio)-- when a veteran state employee blew the whistle on alleged political hiring for jobs that were supposed to have been insulated from political influence under the state's merit system. The corrupt-- and illegal-- hiring practices of Fletcher and his merry band of crooks is now under intense scrutiny. Of course, Fletcher whines that the investigation is politically motivated; he claims Attorney General Stumbo, a Democrat, wants to run against him for governor. Stumbo says he isn't running for Governor, just doing his job.

Meanwhile, Murgatroyd appeared before the grand jury in June and invoked his Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination.
