Was It Inevitable That Trump's Presidency Would Fall Apart? It's What Putin Was Counting On

>

Worst "president" ever just ended a truly horrific week... entirely of his own making. And it's bad for the country and it's bad for all of us. If you believe in the power of prayer, start praying that he goes-- and fast. Or that Mueller's report has so many smocking guns and so much collusion that not ever the Republican cowards in Congress can keep whistling Dixie.

Three guys with great White House connections, Mike Allen, Jim VandeHei, Jonathan Swan, reported that Trump is already becoming disenchanted with Acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney. Trump asked one trusted adviser: "Did you know [Mulvaney] called me 'a terrible human being'" back during the campaign? The Axios Three say that "Trump was furious when the slight surfaced in a two-year-old video right after he promoted Mulvaney.

A week after that tape became the talk of Washington, CNN reported that Mulvaney called Trump's views on his silly border wall and on immigration "simplistic... absurd and almost childish." Asked on a radio show, when he was still a congressman, Mulvaney explained "[T]o just say 'build the darn fence' and have that be the end of an immigration discussion is absurd and almost childish for someone running for president to take that simplistic of [a] view... "And by the way, the bottom line is the fence doesn't stop anybody who really wants to get across. You go under, you go around, you go through it. And that's what the ranchers tell us, is that they don't need a fence. What they need is more manpower, and more technology, and more willingness to enforce the law as it exists today. There are parts of our border that are secure and parts of our border that are not. A lot of that comes down to whether or not we are just willing to enforce the law as it exists. So it's easy to tell people what they want to hear, 'build the darn fence, vote for me.'"
Earlier in the interview, Mulvaney said his views on immigration were shaped by talking to Texas ranchers.

"The fence is an easy thing to sell politically," Mulvaney said. "It's an easy thing for someone who doesn't follow the issue very closely to say, 'oh, well that'll just solve everything, build the fence.' When you go out and you talked to the Texas ranchers. Which I've done, [Rep.] Jeff Duncan has done, and ask them-- these are the guys dealing with it every single day."

"Because we have a fence there," the interview said. "And they're building tunnels."

"Yeah we have a fence, Mulvaney responded. "That's exactly the point."

Mulvaney added he believed Trump's emotional appeals and cavalier attitude might prompt him to try going around the Constitution.

"I wonder who is more interested in going around the Constitution in order to get things done. Barack Obama or Donald Trump," Mulvaney said.

"It's easy to tell people what they want to hear. It's easy to appeal to people's emotions," Mulvaney added. "I'm angry. I get it. I mean, believe me, I'm as angry as anybody on this. I do this for living. I have to deal with this administration every single day. It's extraordinarily frustrating. I feel that anger because I live with it and I talk to people about it."

"That's what I do when I come home, and that's people are angry," he continued. "And I get it because I'm as angry as they are, but just to appeal to somebody's emotion and say, vote for me because I'm as angry as you are, doesn't really solve the problem. It might make you feel better in terms of having voting with somebody who sympathizes with you, but it doesn't really solve the problem and that's what I'm interested in trying to do is, how do you solve the problems and winning elections is part of solving the problems."

It was a really bad day, week, month year for Trump. He inherited a stable foreign policy, built by both parties over decades, and he's destroyed it like a bull in a china shop. He inherited a roaring economy and he's killing it. The Trump Stock Market just ended its worst week in a decade. He's destroying a democracy that was built over the course of more than two centuries. Now he's shutting down the government-- primarily because he doesn't have the capacity to deal with all the crap he's created around him. Everything he touches turns to shit. And everyone knows it's all going to get much worse-- on every level. All that... without even putting the Mueller investigation into the equation.

I fear the horror show of Trump's actions over the past two years is just a tiny spark soon to ignite into an unbelievable bonfire, a fire the USA will have greater and greater difficulty putting out. The USA and the world will burn. The Republicans will sit and watch at ringside seats, many cheering the bonfire on. What a sick bunch of traitorous psychopaths. It has never been truer that the Road to Hell is Paved with Republicans.

The Dems will HAVE TO pursue impeachment. They will have no choice, really. They cannot let this monster continue in office without exerting bold efforts to stop him. If they don't they will be complicit. Even if they do, it is unclear whether Trump will be stopped in time to save us. Time has become our enemy. Each week the scale of Trump's disasters has been morphing into bigger entities, like the Andromeda strain. This past week has shown, undeniably, that Trump is now an autocrat extraordinaire with immense power running the military solely by his "gut". He listens to no one from our country, just Putin. Even the Pentagon is fearful now, quite a feat.

Putin is bringing us down. He is destroying us and winning a war without a shot being fired. Trump is clearly his puppet, doing his bidding instead of the American people's. This week proves the case. All Putin needs to do in announce something publicly and Trump obeys and issues edits for him. Just this week - out of Syria, out of Afghanistan, lifting sanctions for a Russian oligarch - a brazen gift for Manafort to make him "whole" and out of debt - Manafort's reward for not "ratting" out Trump to Mueller? Really? This is happening right in front of our eyes. This is no problem for you, Republicans?

Hone clearly was not alive in 2005 when the anti-red wave was forming because of cheney's wars, w's stupidity and laziness and a similar tax cut for the rich fanning the RE bubble that a lot of people knew had to burst soon.
Pelosi vowed then to not impeach so that her democraps might get a few frightened moderate Nazi voters and a house majority in 2006.
her vow should have kept the lefties home .. because why elect democraps who have vowed to NOT do what you need them to do? But, alas, dear hone, everyone voting FOR democraps is as brain dead as a rusty doorknob.. and there were millions of them.

2018 is nearly identical to 2006 in just about every political way imaginable. The Nazis are a cluster fuck, but they remain united in their desire only for power and their inability to wield it smartly. And the democraps just capitalized on it BWO stupid lefties and a tiny bit of suppression of the Nazis who are sick of their side being such a cluster fuck of a shit show.
And Pelosi has already vowed not to impeach.

Truly, we have a "government" that reflects our hapless idiot populace.

And WE are not getting smarter. So our "government" won't be getting better.

wanna bet that the Nazi base will climax over this? I bet their devotion to their trump demigod will become asymptotic to 100% today. his and their hate of brown immigrants and rainbow democraps have congealed into a shutdown that could last until the next election.

How long will the TSA and military and others work without pay? How many of our elders and those on disability will become homeless, sicken and die (which is also a good thing in the eyes of Nazis) for lack of ssi checks?

I actually believe that Pelosi will cave and give trump at least part of his wall to reopen the govt. by about the presidents' day holiday. she'll think it'll make her a hero to those being ratfucked... but it won't. it'll just prove to millions more that the democraps are worthless pieces of shit in a punchbowl full of turds.

If Putin is pulling the strings, call me Comrade!

Trump is withdrawing troops from Syria, leaving Afghanistan, returned the House of Representatives to the Democrats and put Paul Ryan into retirement. That's way more than President Hillary would have/could have done.

Funny how Nancy and Schumucky Chucky aren't putting out statements like Bernie's.

This is definitely the right thing to be doing right now. This is the opportunity to hit the GOP hard, yet an independent Democratic Socialist has taken up the cudgels and is wielding them effectively without them.

You can bet this is being ignored by the corporatist media.

Bernie is talking, that is all. that is all he ever does.

this is the apex of trump's admin. after doing so many things so badly, he accidentally got one thing right, though for the wrong reasons.

And he got to shut down the government and give the finger to the democraps.

He's got lefties a little corn-fused about the former and his base all need to change their drawers after cumming so hard over the latter.

If only obamanation had accidentally put Jamie dimon or cheney in prison...

Democrats should have one mantra, and only one mantra, the next two years: "Impeach and imprison Trump"! They should recruit an army of volunteers to chant around the clock, 24/7, "Impeach Trump!", with bullhorns and megaphones, outside the White House. Make it so loud Donald and Melania don't get a minute of sleep. Punish them the way they have punished the American people!!

shoulda had that mantra in 2000 -- impeach cheney and bush, for being truly illegitimate, wars, torture and so on.

but democraps of then are the same democraps of today. Yet we think/hope/dream they will act different today?

we DESERVE the ratfucking we're getting.
