Midnight Meme Of The Day!

>

by Noah

It took 60 years but the Russians finally got their inside man in Manchurian President Trump. They cultivated him for years. He was only the best man that rubles could buy but, with the help of his Republican Party, that has been more than enough. Back in the early 1950s Republikooks like Wisconsin Senator Joe McCarthy thought the State Department was full of pro-Russian assets, agents and sympathizers. Now, it's the White House and Congress, and for real. In the White House and in Congress red doesn't just mean Republican. Ask Dana Rohrabacher, Devin Nunes, Mitch McConnell or any of them.

A personal note: The quote in tonight's meme was reported by David Brinkley on the NBC Nightly News the night of Nikita Khrushchev's infamous speech. Years later, while interning for Brinkley, I was able to ask him about Khrushchev and his successor Leonid Brezhnev. He looked at me and, emphasizing the word never, said "No matter who's in charge there, the Russians will never stop trying to topple us. We change leaders much more often than they do. Pray we always have leaders who stand up to them."

It isn't Russia that will ultimately blow the shit out of the usa.

It has been money. Corporations and the ultra-rich will get all the credit, and all the gold.

Russia will revel in the death throes of America. They may even provide the last tiny nudge that tips it over.

But it's the money. And we have all been supporting and affirming this for 2 generations.

Everyone who votes for democraps and refuse to insist on actual left/liberal/progressive policies, especially, are the ones who are doing this.

Lincoln was the one who observed that America couldn't be defeated from without in a "trial of a thousand years". He noted that if destruction of the nation be our lot, it would come from among us. (Actual 1838 quote here)

In other words, Lincoln knew about this problem long before today. It probably has been a threat since the slave-owning predecessors of modern Republicans warped the Constitution very badly with their power-grabbing demands for unequal and superior treatment.

If this nation does break up, I live in California. I'll be a citizen of the world's fourth-largest economy. And I'll get to deal with our own democrap back-stabbing supermajority just as if I still had Republicans to deal with.

I won't notice much of a change.

the recipe for toppling a democracy is pretty simple

1) make the voters dumber than a bag of hammers
2) sell all leadership and policy to the highest bidder
3) give the morons boogey-men to fear
4) demagogue the shit out of the morons

We did 1 to ourselves. That led to our failure to notice 2. Once the money owns it, they use it to scare and divide us... #3.

When all that is normalized, 4 becomes inevitable.

All Russia did was help a tiny bit on 3.

The rest is all us/US. But americans can never admit to fucking up... so... here we are.

1. The U.S. leadership like everywhere else likes a dumb, misinformed public. Due to that point, we are complicit.
2. U.S. leaders (Trump and untold numbers of CEOs and politicians) sold out leadership and policy to the highest bidder- Russia.
3. "Boogey-men" are real and our own people are using them in multiple ways as always, even working with them.
4. Once the above 3 are in place demagoguery hardly matters. The goals are underway by then.
and,
5. Putin and his bots are playing on the things the U.S. has done to itself. They have from the start. Trump is a goal scored.
6. After researching the talking points the bots have been using in reaction and desperation to the latest Michael Cohen news, I see how well they match up with the points made in the previous comments.
7. Never take your eyes off Russia.
8. Never take your eyes off who Russia is using here to gain their long range goal.

While it's true that putin wants the us (and the EU) to aplinter in order to destroy NATO, his contribution was nominal.

It has been 4-decades of corporate takeover, affirmed by a brain-dead electorate every 2 years, that has done the damage.

Putin and corporations use the same tactics, but for different strategic aims.

corporations just want to reign over all the capital and labor in the world.
