Midnight Meme Of The Day!

When Asylum White House recently announced that the above picture would be the official portrait of the 45th President of the United States, most of us were shocked but then, as it sunk in, maybe not so much. As Inmate/Spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders explained when she faced an incredulous press gathering:

I know most of you think the president just spends his days wandering around the White House in his bathrobe and gold slippers, tweeting and yelling at the TVs, but we feel that this portrait shows off our president in one of his more dignified moments. President Trump especially likes it since he asked our Russian comrades what they felt and they wholeheartedly approved and offered great encouragement. It was after that, that the president ordered that a 10 foot by 20 foot version be displayed in the Oval Office for all guests and dignitaries to view and comment upon. 5 foot by 10 foot versions have been placed in in the offices of all Asylum White House staffers and Cabinet heads. And, FOX viewers will soon be seeing TV advertising for numbered editions on their favorite news programs.

Now, of course, there are rumors that House Speaker Ryan, always trying to curry favor from the love of his life, is suggesting that the photo would be spectacular as a series of banners lining both sides of the entire length of Constitution Avenue. Meanwhile, Mike Pence is wondering how he will ever top it. If he asks, we at DWT will have some nice suggestions to offer.

As for my immediate reaction to the photo, I just had to caption it and turn it into tonight's meme. The way I see it, Republicans are so eager to kiss Señor Trumpanzee's big orange butt that they will soon be adopting his "hand gesture" as an official Republican Party gesture, signal of solidarity, and greeting. I've heard that Sean Hannity now plans to begin and end all of his shows with a finger up his nose. Likewise, the ever eager to please hosts of FOX and Friends have similar plans that will be carried out as soon as they hear from Asylum White House as to what the proper length of time for the gesture is.
