Teabaggers Planning A Spontaneous Eruption For Mid-October

>

Earlier today, Noah examined John Cleese's take on the jaw-dropping degeneration of the Republican Party in America. The fact that the party's congressional leadership is now trusted by approximately 12% of the voters, though, doesn't mean that the GOP is just going to slink off and die quietly-- or even change their ways and become a more positive, less obstructionist, force for good governance. The most vital piece of the current party base, the teabaggers, looks like it plans to make a bad situation-- for respectable Republicanism that can successfully appeal to mainstream voters-- far worse.
Last night, in an emergency conference call, nearly 100 national and local Tea Party Patriot organizers around the country unanimously supported a recent proposal to hold new week long rallies in over 650 cities around the country. The rallies will target local and national offices of representatives and senators. Despise concerns expressed about overexposure and weather, all organizers agreed that we must do this to send a unified message; "We are still the silent majority and we will hold elected officials accountable for their votes." The October Surprise as it is being called will focus on health care legislation, cap and trade and the November elections. The October Surprise is intended to get the media saying, my god they're back, bigger than ever and where are they coming from?

Several approaches were proposed to the rallies which are going to target local offices for national elected officials. Some will hold drive by rallies and others will hold sign waving rallies. And in a ploy for media attention one proposal suggested Patriots camp out on the steps of our elected officials offices until the vote and encourage them to mark against nationalized health care. The idea is to work in shifts either via tent and 24/7 for the duration, or just show up during office hours for the whole day the entire week of Oct 19-23. This extended presence will demonstrate that we have the passion and give the local media easy access to American's who hold our viewpoint. It is intended to make the Tea Party message the primary viewpoint for local audiences as the vote nears.

...Right now to the outside world it seems that the Tea Party movement has burnt out, but we know better. We are just average American's who go about our business living our normal lives, we are the silent majority. We follow national events on television and on the radio so keenly it would appear as if our very existence depends on it, and in very real ways we know that it does. But history has proven that we always step up when we are called. And as tired and frustrated as we are, like a weary soldier in battle we will pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and continue to fight and continue to BE HEARD. No one said this was going to be easy and we are prepared to continue the fight.

Along with the October Surprise rallies, many others ideas were proposed. One that was enthusiastically supported included citizen investigations into elected officials campaign contributions using publicly available websites, public documents and any insider knowledge that can be found. The thought is that with over 30,000 willing volunteers and a subdued media, we can drum up better pictures of our elected officials and their motivations than we are currently getting from the press. The early list of elected officials includes both republicans and democrats who will have key votes on health care. A committee was formed to begin training Tea Party Patriot volunteers on how to use the internet to dig for information and how to share it. Bloggers across the country are standing by to analyze revelations of importance.

Bloggers standing by to analyze bribes from Big Business is actually common ground that all Americans-- normal and teabagger-- can admire. If allowed to proiceed with any degree of vigor, it will certainly separate sincere teabaggers from the Astro-Turf organs that have been behind their movement 'til now. Normal Americans, on the other hand, do get nervous when the gun nuts and right-wing terrorists are given permission to come out of their caves.
A TEA Party set for Hudson later this month will feature hot drinks and political speeches-- and guns.

TEA stands for Taxed Enough Already, and the Hudson Open Carry TEA Party is scheduled for Oct. 17 in Lakefront Park. Organizers tout it as a picnic to celebrate their rights to demonstrate and to carry arms.

This is too funny a post. The "jaw-dropping degeneration of the Republican Party in America"??? You mean the jaw-dropping degeneration of the Democrat Party in America..and their congressional hoodlums.. which are too long to list here. There is no longer 'respectable Democrats' as they are all corrupted by the far left global socialist elites.

Actually it's the Dems in Congress that have the 12% approval rating and are the 'death cult' what with this managed complete lives theory of health care they are trying to FORCE on us. The republicans are out of the picture seeing as they neither fund nor fuel the tea partiers in any way no matter how much you would like to attribute this to them.

I run a tea party group for my state and there is no one behind us financially.. You don't need money to gather in the streets. WE just do it on our own. So your premise is wrong no matter who is trying to take credit.

And we agree that we need to watch for violence. After all it's you anti-tea partiers who have beaten us up, kicked us in the groin and spit on us (even as we were armed in full view) bitten a finger off of one of our people and in one case you even shot one of our protesters dead. On the other hand, 1.5M of us gathered on DC without so much as a scuffle or bit of trash left behind.

So much for the violence you decry.

By the way, tea partiers are for good governance, not total governance which is what this tin pot dictator is trying to impose using the Soros money and euorpean oligarchists influence.

In case you don't understand what that means, in simple language it means we broke away from the monarchy once and now we are being handed back.
Shame on you for aiding and abetting it..

Earthy Girl, it's difficult to figure which ones are ignorant shills being used by the wealthy as mushroom patches, and which ones are cynical Republicans just pretending to be dumb. I figure either way, they're good for a laugh, though not much more.

If you can't get one fact right that is available thru a quick google search, how can anyone take your comment seriously.

and you also wrote:"1.5M of us gathered on DC without so much as a scuffle or bit of trash left behind." Wrong on your facts again. Totals for the rally were put at under 100,000 people. But thanks for picking up your trash.

"Anonymous also said...I run a tea party group for my state and there is no one behind us financially.."

Where was your group when the Republicans grew that national debt by almost 50% when they controlled congress? Oh, that's right, out of control spending by the Republicans is OK.

Personally, I don't find anything wrong with people getting together and protesting when they think our government is doing something wrong. What I do find wrong is how groups like yours are going about it. Shouting down Representatives and Senators at townhall meetings and displaying outrages signs hurts your cause.

I will give your comment an A+ though for hitting of the Republican talking points.

If I might propose a corollary to the above pithy comment:

When it comes down to it, the purveyors of faux-populist authoritarianism, for all of the ugliness, self-deception & self-pity of their various guises/tactics, those of us looking on in horror must keep in mind that the most profound ugliness is to be found in the grab-bag of ideologies that have seduced them.

This is a smart blog. I mean it. You have so much knowledge about this issue, and so much passion. You also know how to make people rally behind it, obviously from the responses. Youve got a design here thats not too flashy, but makes a statement as big as what youre saying. Great job, indeed. Stores Outlet - Samsung Plasma HDTV
