A note on the Delhi High Court's decriminalization of homosexuality
>
FYI: Based on apparently better information, I've added a "recorrection" to my "clarification" of Howie's post regarding the ruling by the High Court of the state of Delhi decriminalizing homosexuality. Along with most of the Western media, I seem to have gotten it wrong. Even though the Delhi court has jurisdiction only over the state of Delhi, it appears that the appeals court's ruling does have force throughout the country until either (a) a court of equal jurisdiction disagrees or (b) the Indian Supreme Court overrules it.
The case seems destined for the Supreme Court, but based on this information, for now the Delhi court's ruling has effect throughout the country. -- Ken
