Last Night On Rachel Maddow's Show...

>

Larry Wilkerson didn't care what Rachel had in mind. He had his own agenda-- cutting Dick Cheney to ribbons on his own terms. She wanted to talk process-- isn't Cheney a yappy dog?-- and he ever so politely, even respectfully, ignored her and just went right for Cheney's jugular. Like many of his who are roiled and rankled when Cheney or any of the Bushists "brag" about there hasn't been another terrorist attack on America in [fill-in-the-blank] number of years. Wilkerson, who was deeply embedded in the upper echelons of the most disastrous American government ever, shoves it right back up their asses-- in the way only a career military man filled with disdain for a pompous, unrepentant draft dodger who thinks nothing about whimsically sacrificing other people's children could do:
That's because he has the honor of being-- or the dishonor of being-- the man on whose watch 3,000 Americans died. More Americans died from a terrorist attack under Dick Cheney's "leadership," if you will, than any other president in our history... The reason that we have not had another attack in this country, more than any other thing, is over 200,000 Americans who have been fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq against al-Qaeda and other associated enemies... present a target rich environment for al Qaeda. So we have had 200,000 Americans overseas presenting al Qaeda with very, very lucrative targets and therefor, why would they want to come here? This is idiocy of the first order that Dick Cheney is putting out... He's a fearful man.

...This is a man who has told more lies from a public pulpit than almost anyone else I know, Why does the media give him so much airtime... He's destroying what's left of the Republican Party. I think the latest polls show we're down to 21% of Americans identifying as Republicans. I suspect that if Cheney continues it'll be down in the low teens. He's destroying the party. There needs to be someone with some, as we say in the Army, some intestinal fortitude-- some guts-- who stands up and tells this man to go home and shut up.

Eugene Robinson was also asking, in yesterday's Washington Post if "the crazy old coot" can't be shipped back to Wyoming. He seems disappointed-- maybe disgusted would be a more apt way to put it-- that "for the final act of his too-long public career, Cheney seems to have decided to become an Old Faithful of self-serving nonsense... Unrestrained by protocol or objective reality, he's pretty much guaranteed to say outrageous things. He requires no prompting or coaxing. As far as he's concerned, issues have just one side-- his-- and anyone who disagrees must secretly wish to deliver our nation to al-Qaeda."

When Rachel asked Wilkerson if Cheney should apologize to Colin Powell, he was utterly dismissive of Cheney and said the two men couldn't be compared: "Two tours in Vietnam, 35 plus years in service to his country; 5 deferments for Dick Cheney, never served a day in the military; said he had other priorities... I don't even think there's a comparison."

WHAT a piece of work. With 5 deferments attacking a Vietnam Vet, 35 year career soldier whose political career ended when he made the Bush2 admin's case for the trumped up yellow cake/wmd in Iraq.

The entire time in office Cheney was getting deferred pay/stock by Halliburton and approving no bid contracts to same.

I happened to catch a few moments of the show last night as I was clicking through the channels on my way to the Sean Hannity show. I caught the tail end of Rachel blathering about some liberal Ivy League professor's comments that all Rush Limbaugh is saying about the Obama administration is that a black man is president. Rachel then made some lame commentary that maybe Cheney should reconsider his comment that Rush should be the leader of the Republican party instead of Powell.

1) It is evident that neither the professor nor Rachel have ever listened to Rush. Rush's issues, as well as all conservative's issues with Obama are about substance and policy - not race. Obama is a socialist. His oath of office was to protect and defend the constitution. His actions violate that oath. We conservatives are upset with that. That is why Rush, Cheney and other conservatives are opposed to Obama and what he is trying to accomplish.
2) Obama is a socialist. He is nationalizing the banks. He is attempting to nationalize the auto industry. He is telling private enterprises (the banks) what they can pay their employees. These are the actions of a socialist. Conservatives are opposed to socialism. It would be the same if Obama were white or black. And by the way he is not black. He is biracial.
3) Rachel Maddow was intellectually dishonest in her assessment that Rush is racist. She and the liberal establishment are the ones playing the race card everytime anyone disagrees or opposes Obama. That is racism.

Cheney loves to repeat that BS that we had no attacks since 9/11, and of course it isn't even true. Anyone remember the anthrax attacks? The ones that Bush and Cheney could neither prevent nor solve?
