Livin' Palin Sits Down To Chew The Blubber With Charlie

>

I bet McCain is hoping the new issue of the National Enquirer distracts people's attention from the mindbogglingly stupid first-ever serious interview his running mate did on ABC-TV this evening. Better they should question Sarah Palin's extremely dubious parenting skills than question John McCain's far more dubious judgment and sense of responsibility towards the country he falsely professes to love. "Clueless" was one of the kinder reviews of Palin's performance.

Steel yourself for the Enquirer piece-- not by taking some Oxy but by recalling a famous quote by far right nincompoop Little Jonah Goldberg in the National Review: "[I]t's worth pointing out that while the Enquirer may or may not be scrupulous in its choice of stories-- that's in the eye of the beholder-- it is pretty scrupulous about its facts. They win lawsuits. They've broken a host of stories the MSM guys couldn't." McCain seems to have backed down from his threats to sue the Enquirer over this one and he's probably hoping people talk about this instead of Palin's suitability for elective office.

The claims that her kids are promiscuous drug addicts and criminals is all fun and games for the dysfunctional kooks who are identifying with her. The stuff she talked about on her first excursion into the semi-real world-- hey, this was Charlie Gibson, not Keith Olbermann or Rachel Maddow-- tells Americans all they need to know about the desperate codger who rashly picked her. Even the uber-biased A.P.-- which has been serving as the press release distribution and enhancement arm of the Double Talk Express-- positively savaged Palin's shocking display of ignorance and unmitigated dingbattery.

This morning's Washington Post isn't kinder to a self-righteous woman clearly out of her depth and unable or unwilling to just shut up.
Gov. Sarah Palin linked the war in Iraq with the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, telling an Iraq-bound brigade of soldiers that included her son that they would "defend the innocent from the enemies who planned and carried out and rejoiced in the death of thousands of Americans."

The idea that the Iraqi government under Saddam Hussein helped al-Qaeda plan the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, a view once promoted by Bush administration officials, has since been rejected even by the president himself. But it is widely agreed that militants allied with al-Qaeda have taken root in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion.

One thing was clear-- if you would want to see a nuclear war with Russia, McCain-Palin is the way to go. Lincoln Chafee, former Republican senator from Rhode Island, termed her a "cocky wacko," possibly too endearing a term for someone as dangerous.

At this point, I owe Gibson an apology.

Howie, you have captured here my every thought. This is not a smart woman. This is a typical GOP blow hard. No substance, but plenty of snide remarks.

War with Russia? Are you kidding me?!!!! Wonder what the blow back from that remark will be world wide?

Video just worked for me now at 9:34. Links are up a few post down at The Washington Note also.

I am wondering what it must have felt like to be one of the other young soldiers with her son when they hear her linking Iraq to 9/11 and God's will etc. I don't think rolling of the eyes would be enough.
