AND ANOTHER ONE BITES, AND ANOTHER ONE BITES, AND ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST: DEBORAH PRYCE (R-OH)

>

Apparently this is take out the rubbish season at the Republican House caucus. And it isn't just LaHood (R-IL), Hastert (R-IL) and Hobson (R-OH). Ralph Regula (R-OH) is expected to announce he won't run again. Ditto for Arizona criminal Rick Renzi and California criminals John Doolittle and Jerry Lewis. But today a Republican who has neither a case pending before the ethics committee nor has had papers seized by the FBI or IRS, Deborah Pryce (R-OH), seems to have made the final decision. In 2006 she came within a few votes of being defeated by Mary Jo Kilroy (110,712 to 109,657). This year she certainly would have been trounced if she dared to run again.

This morning's Hill announced that she will bow out of her own volition, opening the door to a takeover by the Democrats. Kilroy has already been campaigning. "Pryce’s office announced it will hold a press conference in her Columbus office on Thursday at 11 a.m. concerning her plans for 2008."

I was under the impression that Ohio's ex-Attorney General James Petro was facing criminal charges for his escapades as part of the corrupt Taft Regime but I must have mixed him up with another crook. He claims he wants to run for 15th CD seat (basically, Columbus). Mary Jo could not ask for a better opponent than Petro, who is chin deep in the scandals of the Taft years.

How wonderful that several are bowing out now. I wish DWT would tell us where he got the news about Lewis and Doolittle because I am very interested in reading about their decisions.

I assisted Kilroy last time. She's not on the ActBlue site yet, is she?

Even Ann Coulter's deserted the Dubya Express.

I suppose the economic signals of a 2008 recession are scaring off the diehards now. Along with any number of polls.

The scary part is the GOP faces such decimation in 2008 that the Theocon-In-Chief may feel compelled to turn to desperation measures. And some guys in Waziristan would love nothing more than to see another empire stretch itself so thin.

Cando, DWT got the info on Doolittle from a source at the DCCC, although it has been speculated about openly in the Northern California media. Jerry Lewis' retirement was predicted 2 weeks ago by the Prince of Darkness, Bob Novak.

I don't check the sources you rely on. Thanks for putting them in the record. Keep up the good work!
DWT is one of my favorite blogs.

I want the prosecutions to begin in January 2009.

DWT, I think you got the monikers wrong. The way I heard it, the Prince of Darkness is Richard Perle. Novak is the Douchebag of Liberty.

I usually reserve that song for Repugs that believe they have to lie about their sexuality and get caught (if they were Democratic they wouldn't have to lie and they could keep their jobs). Then there is always the ones that have been caught trying to molest children. Always did love that song.
