IF YOU WERE A RESIDENT OF WINGNUTIA, HOW WOULD YOU BE THINKING ABOUT THE BIG WIDE WORLD AROUND YOU?

>

I'm not advocating anyone take a hit of acid or join the KKK but sometimes it's important to be able to put yourself in the shoes of your enemy. That way, unlike the clueless Bush Regime's blindness towards al-Qaeda, you'll understand something of what you're up against. Don't ask me why but for some reason I was sent the results of the polling that was done by the loons on the loons at last week's HateFest (aka- CPAC). They asked 508 extremists why the Republicans were defeated at the polls in November. Each person was asked to make 10 choices out of 31 possibilities that caused the GOP to lose control of both houses of Congress. By an overwhelming margin (79.5%) the top choice was "illegal corruption" (which spans everything from Cunningham, Ney and Abramoff to Foley). The second choice also had huge support (69.9%): "conservative leaders who kept silent while the Republican Party embraced Big Government." And the third most popular choice (52.4%) just blamed the whole debacle on George W. Bush. The rest of the top 10:

     4.     Mainstream media that may have influenced voters 52.2%
     5.     Legal corruption (such as “earmarks” and special interest legislation) 50.2%
     6.     Blunders by Republican candidates 47.6%
     7.     Conservative media that kept silent while the Republicans became the party of Big Government 45.5%
     8.     Former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld 35.6%.
     9.     Neocons in the Bush Administration 30.7%
    10.     Former Majority Leader Tom DeLay 26.4%

Other factors in the defeat that got significant numbers of votes were Ted Stevens and his Bridge to Nowhere, Cheney, and Michael Brown of FEMA fame.
