IMPEACHMENT HAS TO BE A BOTTOM UP PROCESS

>

Democrats in Congress may be scared to touch it-- or unable to move because of the reactionaies in the caucus-- but real Americans know what has to be done. You're probably aware of the story of how Ethan Allen and Vermont's Green Mountain Boys saved us from King George in 1775 by marching into New York and, against all odds, capturing Fort Ticonderoga, Fort Ann and Crown Point. Well, 232 years have passed since then and Vermonters are trying to save us from a far worse and far more dangerous King George.

Kagro X at Daily Kos is celebrating-- and explaining the significance of-- a series of town meetings across Vermont this week, although even more towns have voted in favor of impeachment since he put up the post. I suspect that these patriots won't get any argument from the state's congressional delegation: Patrick Leahy, Bernie Sanders and Peter Welch.

There is a genuine likelihood that Bush will do something to further infame public opinion over the boiling point, like pardoning Irving Libby (AKA- "Scooter") or firing more government employees who refuse to obey illegal and partisan commands or... well, let's be real: these people are capable of anything; nothing is beyond them. As they do more outrageous things and as Congress and the media uncover more outrageous things-- more Walter Reed horrors, more corruption, more smears, more lies... will more towns and more states join the move to impeach these two national disgraces?

It is a cruel irony that the one president in history who has most deserved impeachment gets a pass from the "opposition" party.

If Bush doesn't deserve to be removed from office, no one ever will.
