DOES CONNECTICUT HAVE A RECALL STATUTE? MAYBE THEY NEED TO RECONSIDER... FAST. WHAT'S THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN?

>

John Amato has the clip up on Crooks & Liars of Holy Joe making it crystal clear of exactly where he stands in terms of war in Iraq-- and how he feels about mere citizens of this country having an opinion on the matter. You might want to give it a watch before you read the Rolling Stone story, Lieberman On Surge: What's "The Worst That Could Happen"?

After Lieberman was denied the Democratic renomination for Senate, he swore up and down the state of Connecticut that he had learned his lesson and that he was now an anti-war candidate. Apparently, between the Republicans who understand a wink and a nod and the low information voters who don't, he was re-elected... for another 6 year term. He promptly showed his fangs and made it clear that he would never be happy until the Middle east was awash in blood-- babies' blood, women's blood, Iraqi blood, American blood, Iranian blood, Israeli blood, Palestinian blood, Syrian blood... Joe Lieberman only wants one thing: wave after wave after wave of blood and gore. Joe Lieberman, as you will see from the clip, is a psychopathic maniac.
In words that should trouble any Democrats counting Lieberman in their camp, Lieberman was praising Bush as a "great leader" for bucking American opinion, as expressed in the 2006 election, in his determination to double down in Iraq. Lieberman then said something incredible:
Even those opposed to the surge, he said, "ought to at least let us try it."

"The worst that could happen," he continued, is that this policy could become another partisan flashpoint in Washington.

What is wrong with this man? Is he so seriously deranged, so terminally stuck inside the Beltway bubble that he has lost his last mooring to humanity? Is it possible that he either in not cognizant or not able to imagine that the worst that could happen is that thousands more men and women lose their lives? That thousands of American and Iraqi families are destroyed? My blood boils when I hear a bubble-bound political hack like Lieberman spewing this kind of rot. There isn't enough suffering I could ever wish on him and his. But now all I wish is that the Connecticut legislature see if there is some way to initiate a recall election, simultaneous with a new election in that state for a U.S. Senator-- before it is too late. Every time Keith Olbermann names someone the Worst Person in the world, he should modify the title by adding "other than Joe Lieberman."

I used to live in CT. I have a number of friends up there and none of them voted for Holy Joe. It sucks, but the perfect storm worked in Holy Joe's favor. The Republicans couldn't even field a decent candidate, so of course all the Repubs are gonna vote for Joe. It's too bad the small percentage of Dems and Indies didn't see the rouse. The one good thing is that Joe will not matter in two years, but yeah, it will be a long two years.

I feel these days like a manic depressive. One day we look like we are holding a winning hand against these maniacs and the next it looks like there is no hope of stopping the madness.

However, I hear some conservative commentators giving the Dems hell if they do not at least stand up to Bush which is certainly new.

There is a huge opposition to this man they call the president.

With him digging in deeper into secrecy, we might have no other option than impeachment.

No disappointment to me, but the Dems may find themselves in a position where they can do nothing else with him.

Maybe there should be a poll or something with the people of connecticut. see how they feel about Joe being Mccain's puppy. And then see if they have recall

I was thinking about this yesterday, I was watching 'Blog Wars' which I had TiVo'd from when it was 1st broadcast several weeks ago. The biggest tragedy was that Joe got re-elected. It made me wanna cry, my teeth hurt, and I had nightmares.

I'm ashamed now to admit that I'm from Connecticut. And it's not just Holy Joe, the Governor is no prize, either. She had a photographer-activist arrested during her re-election Victory Parade, mostly because he was on a list as some sort of dangerous person.

Since the elections, gasoline has gone up, the cost of electricity is the highest in the nation, the Governor has proposed universal health care by offering the state as a marketer for health insurance, the State Police have been involved in a big scandal involving sex for ... well, look up the links.

You can add me to the "embarrassed" list but I remain more furious than anything. I can't BELIEVE this joker is still something we have to contend with and I honestly believe that "something" happened that we'll probably never know.

If there IS a way to recall him, I'd certainly like to know about it. Research has yielded much useful information but trust me - I'd be one of the first on the bandwagon.

All very interesting, but time to move on.

Can we recall Chris Dodd ..???

What a loser! Helped inflame the housing crisis and took crooked loans from Countrywide? Why do the CT voters have to put up with him for any longer?

RECALL DODDS NOW..!

Dodds is one of the worst - he defended FNMA for years - probably took their $$$ too..

Any chance CT voters could wake up and oust him..?

Recall Republican Joe Lieberman from Connecticut

This could be achieved quite quickly and reasonably in truth. I refer all CT residents to current (that is, 2009) proposed legislation (in HR 5827)...

http://www.cga.ct.gov/asp/CGABillStatus/CGAbillstatus.asp?selBillType=Bill&bill_num=HB5827

If it ever comes out of Judicial, there's the solution.
