BECK DISGRACES CNN WITH HIS BULLSHIT RACIST ANTI-MUSLIM ATTACK ON CONGRESSMAN-ELECT KEITH ELLISON

>

When CNN first announced they were hiring right wing propaganda whore Glenn Beck it was just further proof to me of how far Ted Turner's dream had fallen into disrepute after being taken over by a series of corporate hacks and hucksters. How could CNN ever make any claims to legitimacy with someone like Beck spewing his primitive personal prejudices and his Republican talking points over its airwaves?

Having heard his divisive, hate-filled message on the radio and having seen promos for his carnival act on CNN itself, I, like many people, have been spending a lot more time watching MSNBC these days. I've scrupulously avoided watching Beck's silly show. Yesterday his antics finally made the headlines he and his corporate masters so desperately crave. CNN's Beck to first-ever Muslim congressman: "[W]hat I feel like saying is, 'Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies.'"

This is how low CNN has fallen in their losing ratings war? Did I miss CNN asking congressmen who have actually been working with our enemies this kind of question? Did anyone ask Dana Rohrabacher about his bizarre dealings with the Taliban? People are aware that Cunningham and Ney are in prison for taking bribes but did CNN ever inform their viewers that both congressmen were involved with nefarious-- if not outright treasonous-- dealings with Saudi Arabia and Iran? Why doesn't Glenn Beck invite California Republican congressloon Ken Calvert on his show and ask him why he flew to Saudi Arabia with convicted Republican crook Thomas Kontogiannis and shady Saudi-American Ziyad S. Abduljawad and what deals he made with the Saudis?

Anyway, Media Matters has the smarmy, vicious video of the spectacle at the link above.

UPDATE: AND TODAY'S NY POST THINKS BECK NEEDS TO ASK DARRELL ISSA IF HE'S A TRAITOR TOO

Glenn McCarthy Beck should also invite another extreme right wing Republican from southern California, Syria and Hezbollah ally Darrell Issa, onto his CNN circus and ask him if he's a traitor. Unlike Ellison, there is smoke and fire with this kook. Oh, and the fanatic Ba'athist loving Issa is running for some leadership position among his fellow GOP congressional nutcases today.

I would have phrased things differently than Beck, but the point remains: As a Muslim, in a highly visible position, will Ellison be vocal in condemning the violence being used routinely by some members of that religion's adherents against "innocents". Or not?

More importantly, the following line of discussion would be warranted, I think:
Q: As a patriotic person who is also a Muslim, do you know whether and to what extent some mosques, schools and other Islamic organizations are advocating steps to undermine the kind of democratic society we have in this country?

Depending on his answer, a follow up question might be along the lines of "by what means?" and "what ought we to do about this, anything?"

Beck organized a "pro-war" rally in Cleveland through his radio show and using the resources of Clear Channel Communications.

Wow, what a double standard. How many innocent MUSLIMS have been slaughtered in Iraq. Funny, but I don't hear you suggesting that Beck ask ANY member of Congress to condemn that. IMO, your other suggested questions would have been equally insulting to a man elected by a majority of the people in his district. I'm surprised you didn't suggest tasering him if he didn't give the "right answers"!

I'm still waiting for some Christians in highly visible positions to be vocal in condemning the violence being used routinely by some alleged Christians against workers at reproductive health clinics. Oh, wait, we're not supposed to point out blatant, stupid hypocrisy, are we?
