"ALL DEMS ARE GOOD/ALL REPUGS ARE BAD" MEME IS ONLY HALF TRUE-- SO LET'S NOT FORGET CHUCK SCHUMER

>

With Rahm getting all the credit for 3 whole days already-- both positive and negative-- and with today's TPM Muckraker floating a list of the worst Democrats without even including him at all, Schumer's infamously out-sized ego must have just exploded. But finally, Rupert Murdoch's always dependable hometown rag, the New York Post comes to the rescue: Center Stage For Schumer, The New 'Don' Of The Dems. They do such groovy headlines there.

More great DLC/Rove spin: "Sen. Charles Schumer will serve as the political consigliere for the Senate's top Democrat with the job of preventing the party from making a hard left turn, The Post has learned. Sources said Schumer has agreed to Senate Majority Leader-in-waiting Harry Reid's request that he stay on as head of the Democratic campaign committee for another two years, partly to counter the growing influence of liberals like Sen. Ted Kennedy and Rep. Nancy Pelosi... 'You have to save the party from not drifting too far over,' Schumer told The Post yesterday."

I'm not sure if Chuckie meant "you, Rupert" or "I, Chuckie." Yesterday I was on a conference call with Harry Reid and he asked how to help the DSCC to work better with grassroots and netroots activists. Some smart-ass [middle name: "With"] yelled out "Start by firing Schumer." I heard Pach laughing diabolically. Of course none of those Firedoglake folks are all that pleased with Schumer and the other Inside the Beltway creeps who stabbed Ned and Connecticut Democrats in the back.

UPDATE: PACH HAS GOT 12 GREAT REASONS TO WATERBOARD MISTRUST CHUCKIE

And Pach has it right-- as usual. Let's see... there's Hackett, Casey, that creepy Morrison suit from Montana he encouraged to run against Tester, Harold Ford, Iraq, his outrageous treachery towards Ned Lamont... so many reasons to watch this creep like a hawk.

I know Chuck can be an ass but that's just his way sometimes. He doesn't suffer fools. He is, however, a very serious legislator. He may be a little conservative for some but I think he will be a good soldier in the fight to come.

Sounds to me like Ned Lamont got off message after his win over Creeperman. Democrat campaign managers know how to blow it for their candidates.
