ANOTHER GREAT REASON TO VOTE FOR EVEN THE WORST DEMOCRATS-- McCAIN PROMISES TO COMMIT SUICIDE IF DEMS TAKE THE SENATE

>

You probably know what I think of Joe Lieberman, right? And it goes back a long way. But there are even worse Democrats-- at least in terms of policy voting-- running for the Senate than Joe Lieberman. Reactionary corporate whores like Harold Ford (TN), Ben Nelson (NE), Tom Carper (DE), and Bob Casey (PA), for example, are likely to cause me to gnash my teeth in the next session when they vote to confirm right wing extremist judges and support Republican corporate agenda legislation. But today a report from a radio station in Iowa gave me reason to want every one of them to win. Yes, even Nelson, who votes with Republicans more frequently than with Democrats on substantive issues and even for Ford, who stabbed the Democratic Party in the back today by endorsing a Bush rubber stamp over the legitimate Democratic nominee in Connecticut.

John McCain has promised to commit suicide if Democrats take control of the Senate November 7th. One of the most dishonest and manipulative scoundrels in the whole Senate, someone the far right will run as their sheep in wolf's clothing in 2008 is promising to kill himself... Oh Lord, I want to change my address and go vote in Nebraska.

McCain was in Iowa, ostensibly to campaign for one of the most bizarre extremists in the U.S. Congress, the male Ann Coulter, a neo-Nazi kook named Steve King. He was really there campaigning for his own unquenchable desire to become President, of course. Anyway, it's worth putting up even with someone as reactionary as Casey if it means McCain will do himself in.

So which blog is going to set up the counter after Nov 7?

"Democrats win Congress. McCain still alive---day xxx"

Gosh, this is exciting. After all, isn't John McCain the pol who "says what he means and means what he says"? So won't he kinda gotta go through with this?

And I love the idea of the "McCain Still Alive" counter. There is just the technical question of whether the count starts from the election or from the day the Democrats actually take control of the Senate--i.e., the day Majority Leader Harry Reid gavels the new Senate into session.

Personally, I think Senator McCain should be asked to clarify the point.

Another good question for the senator would be:

"Have you decided HOW you're going to commit suicide?"

And the obvious follow-up question:

"Will there be TV coverage?"

McCain is mental. That was the one thing Bush was right about. But, sadly, it takes one to know one.
