PHIL HENDRIE COMMITTED CAREER SUICIDE WHEN HE DRANK THE BUSH KOOL-AID LONG AGO. BUT HIS SHOW OFFICIALLY ENDS FRIDAY

>

I remember once laughing so hard that I had to pull over to the side of the road. And as soon as I did, my cell rang and it was a friend who was laughing so hard in a different part of town that he had pulled off the side of the road too. That was a long time. It was a time when Phil Hendrie's radio show was appointment-radio for me, a time when I'd make sure to be coming and going so I could hear Hendrie's insanely hilarious characters. A long time ago... I stopped listening to Hendrie years ago when he lost it entirely and a brilliant and irreverent satirical show became nothing but a hysterical right-wing hate fest and nightly Bush rally. His short-lived blog, georgebushisgod.com, was the last straw for most of his listeners and, although he has tried to back away from his overt partisanship, his ratings never recovered. My theory is that you needed a three-digit IQ to "get" Hendrie's humor. The slackjawed mouth-breathers who make up George Bush's fan base might have appreciated Hendrie's slathering adoration for their dim-witted leader but they could never grasp the abstract concepts necessary to understand what Hendrie was talking about.

His listenership plummeted, right along with Bush's approval ratings and as station after station dropped what had turned into a dull and pathetic Limbaugh-wannabe slot, it became clear that Hendrie would be looking for another job. Tomorrow's his last show. I won't be listening. Neither will my friend who pulled over to the side of the road that same night I did. Neither will Adam, the DWT Art Director in West Palm Beach all the way on the other side of America. But Adam got a letter from Hendrie a couple days ago and asked me to alert our readers. His take is that Hendrie's ruin-- he's going into "acting" now-- is a warning to Democrats (like Hendrie, Zell Miller, Joe Lieberman, Ben Nelson...) who sell out to the siren call of fascism. I was going to print the letter but when I re-read it I realized there wasn't a single sentence worth quoting.

When will folks pay attention? To buck Bush is a winning stance.

Telling the truth about Bush increases one's popularity.

It's too bad some people let one political opinion ruin a brilliant and always entertaining show. Phil never became a typical right wing host, he usually dedicated just a few minutes to politics or at the most one segment. He also made it clear he only support Bush's stance on Terrorism. It doesn't matter if you are a democrat or republican, if you are a free thinking human being and don't just support whatever your party tells you to, then you have to admit Bush was a great leader after 9/11 and really brought people together.

Anyways forget all this and forget what any of us think about the politics, Phil brought the funny each and every night.

Phil had a really funny show, something I used to look forward to EVERY night, then he lost his mind with the right wing shill talk, and I just totally ditched him. One night he raved about how we shouldnt show soldiers coffins and that was it for me. He is getting exactly what he deserves. He is nothing but a whore. Phil if you read this, know I am to the point of writing any station that airs you and telling them they will lose me as a listener unless they dump your pathetic ass.

Yeah- he just lost me tonight.

he spent a hour justifying every bungle and crony move of the current administration since 2000.

Anybody with half a brain can research and uncover the octopus of corruption that has perpetuated the se career criminals.

Part of the original charm, was that Phil took calls fooling real folk, his characters interacting hilariously with them.

Now he just gripes and blames and the edge just ain't there anymore.
He must be on the "priveledge payroll" or being pressured behind the scenes to gently spew right-wing defense to sway progessive listeners.
What a loss.

The idea that Bush is a great leader is simply antithetical to concept of both great and leader, because any President could have muttered a barely intelligible remark through a bullhorn atop trade center rubble and sent the bluntest ALL instrument's to asshole of the Earth to let bomb's fly!
