MY PAL DANNY SAYS THE NEW BUSH-STOLE-THE-ELECTION STORY IN ROLLING STONE DOESN'T MATTER BECAUSE IT WON'T STAND UP IN COURT. WE'LL SEE IN NOVEMBER

>

Yesterday I was talking with a Democrat running for Congress; great guy-- smart, idealistic, good set of values, a real public service mindset. At one point he was denouncing the Bush Regime's illegal and disastrous occupation of Iraq and he mentioned in passing that they had come to power by stealing two consecutive elections in Florida (2000) and Ohio (2004). "Whoa... Are you saying," I asked, "that you would have stood up with the Congressional Black Caucus members and demanded an investigation of Bush's election in 2004?" He said he would have. I think many Democrats-- almost none did-- would have if they had read Robert Kennedy, Jr's new and exhaustive piece in the new ROLLING STONE.

"Like many Americans," he begins, "I spent the evening of the 2004 election watching the returns on television and wondering how the exit polls, which predicted an overwhelming victory for John Kerry, had gotten it so wrong. By midnight, the official tallies showed a decisive lead for George Bush -- and the next day, lacking enough legal evidence to contest the results, Kerry conceded. Republicans derided anyone who expressed doubts about Bush's victory as nut cases in 'tinfoil hats,' while the national media, with few exceptions, did little to question the validity of the election. The Washington Post immediately dismissed allegations of fraud as 'conspiracy theories,' and The New York Times declared that 'there is no evidence of vote theft or errors on a large scale.'"

I want to urge everyone to read the entire article. This way next time someone claims Bush was elected, you'll have all the evidence you need at your fingertips to show that he was never elected president. Does that mean we can get rid of those awful judges he appointed? I guess it means we can-- just as soon as we bring back to life all the people who were killed because of his vicious agenda and grotesque incompetence.

I’ve been searching the MSM for a reference to Kennedy’s article, but I’ve found nothing. I think we might have to bombard the media again, as we did with the Downing Street Memo. It worked then and it will work now. That campaign was run by bloggers. So what are we waiting for?
