WILL FEINGOLD'S MODERATE CENSURE RESOLUTION BE REVIVED NOW THAT EVEN THE DIMMEST BULBS KNOW BUSH IS A CRIMINAL?

>

As Bush's and the Republican rubber-stamp Congress' approval ratings continue circling the toilet bowl, news for the renegade Regime gets worse and worse... and worse.

Even before the mass media picked up on Jane Harman's characterization of Bush as "the Leaker-in-Chief," A.P. was reporting that "Bush's approval ratings hit a series of new lows in an AP-Ipsos poll that also shows Republicans surrendering their advantage on national security-- grim election-year news for a party struggling to stay in power. Democratic leaders predicted they will seize control of one or both chambers of Congress in November. Republicans said they feared the worst unless the political landscape quickly changes. There is more at stake than the careers of GOP lawmakers. A Democratic-led Congress could bury the last vestiges of Bush's legislative agenda and subject the administration to high-profile investigations of the Iraq war, the CIA leak case, warrantless eavesdropping and other matters."

Bush's overall approval rating has sunk to 36%, his lowest ever in the AP-Ipsos poll and only 35% approve the way he's handling Iraq (another low). The rubber-stamp Congress does even worse, with only 30% approving. And by a whopping 49-33 margin, voters think Democrats, not Republicans should be in control of Congress. That 16% margin is the biggest either party has ever had in the history of AP-Ipsos polling.

After this dismal polling date had been gathered... "the Libby bombshell. Irving Libby (also know by several aliases: Scooter, Lewis and Louie) told the grand jury-- under oath-- that he divulged the top secret National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq to a New York Times reporter with specific permission from Bush.

Remember when Bush blurted out to the press "If someone committed crime, they will no longer work in my administration?" USA Today carried that on July 18, 2005. And Bush made a series of similar assertions, apparently trying to throw investigators and public off the trail of his vengeful, criminal Regime. Democratic Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid has demanded that Bush "come clean about his involvement... President Bush must fully disclose his participation in the selective leaking of classified information." Reid's office sited several instances of Bush's outright lies about the leak investigation and his knowledge of and participation in the leak of an active duty CIA agent (Valerie Plame) to get even with her husband, Ambassador Joe Wilson for telling the truth about Bush Regime lies regarding faked reports of Iraq trying to buy uranium from Niger.

Examples of Bush's public lies include two whoppers on September 30, 2003: "I don't know of anybody in my administration who leaked classified information. If somebody did leak classified information, I'd like to know it, and we'll take the appropriate action." The very same day, he was at it again, deceptively, brazenly and without any semblance of shame: "If there is a leak out of my administration, I want to know who it is. And if the person has violated law, the person will be taken care of. . . . I have told our administration, people in my administration to be fully cooperative. I want to know the truth. If anybody has got any information inside our administration or outside our administration, it would be helpful if they came forward with the information so we can find out whether or not these allegations are true and get on about the business." What a scumbag! It was him all along. And he was still at it a month later. the lies never stopped: "I'd like to know if somebody in my White House did leak sensitive information." (That was the same day he tried to blame the cover-up on the press: "I want to know the truth. ... I have no idea whether we'll find out who the leaker is, partially because, in all due respect to your profession, you do a very good job of protecting the leakers."

And I've said all along that supporting Russ Feingold's proposal to censure this disgraceful turd masquerading as president of our nation is the only acceptable thing for the Congress to do. (Impeaching the two of these shameless, lying crooks would only make another lowlife scumbag, Dennis Hastert, president.) And why hasn't there been any follow-through on Feingold's modest proposal? Well, according to one of the small handful of Democrats with the balls and the good sense to support Feingold, Tom Harkin (D-IA), "The Democrats don't have the guts to stand up to censure a president who misled us, who lied to the American people, who broke the law and violated the Constitution of the United States in spying on the American people. I tell you, we've got to get some more backbone to a lot of Democrats. We need to hear from people. The American people need to know, and to show support for this resolution.

8AM UPDATE: WATCH BUSH LIE AND LIE AND LIE AND LIE. THIS IS THE LEADER OF OUR NATION??

Thanks to the Center For American Progress for putting this incredible video together so that everybody can see clearly that whenever Bush opens his trap, shit flows forth.

10AM UPDATE: TREASON

William Rivers Pitt explains why Bush is actually guilty of treason! "We have Bush authorizing disclosure of classified information, and we have that disclosure taking place for no other reason than to discredit an administration critic. It is treason." Is treason enough of a reason to censure someone? Or do Republicans only care about blowjobs?

Wow! Even Howie "I See Nothing" Kurtz seems to think Chimpy is in political doodoo now that he's unmasked as "Leaker-in-Chief?" When even as dim a bulb as our own "Mr. Oblivious" gets it, I think it's reasonable to conclude that the tenacious turd is in trouble.

Sorry, the link for Dim Howie's column seems to have come out wrong. Maybe this will work, if anyone cares.

Even before the mass media picked up on Jane Harman's characterization of Bush as "the Leaker-in-Chief,"...

Please bear in mind, this is the same Jane Harman who voted for the Iraq War, and who supports its continuation, and who voted for the Patriot Act (twice), and whose outrage, when the illegal NSA warrantless-spying program was finally exposed, was directed not at the president, but at the New York Times.

But Ms. Harman, for those who don't know, is lately feeling some heat from the left within her own district (and mine: CA-36), in the form of a primary challenger. That challenger's name is Marcy Winograd (the president of the local PDA chapter, who's been endorsed by Tom Hayden, Howard Zinn, Jim Hightower, Helen Caldicott, and others). So that's why we're suddenly getting empty left-sounding rhetoric (like this) from Jane Harman. What we're not getting, and what we'll never get from Jane Harman, is tangible action from her to stop or impede the president from his illegal warrantless spying on Americans, much less an actual vote to impeach this president for his lawbreaking.

That's why I'm begging you, as a constituent of Jane Harman's, to please help me remove her from office. Let's replace Blue Dog Jane with a real Democrat: Marcy Winograd.
