Turning The California Senate Seat From Purple To Blue

Thursday, A Progressive California, an independent PAC, aired its first television ad in support of Kevin de León for U.S. Senate. I watched it being played between segments on Chris Hayes' show and thought it was really great. Take a look above.

With the help of their new coalition partners at the California Nurses Association and National Nurses United, the new TV ad, titled "Act Like Democrats," is airing all across Los Angeles on MSNBC and CNN. Most of the Democratic Party coalition is too cowardly to go up against Feinstein-- even if they really want to.

As you can see-- this commercial shows the stark contrast in this race between Kevin and DiFi. It contrasts a tired Washington insider who said Donald Trump "can be a good President," versus Kevin de León, a leader of California's resistance who supports Medicare for All, 100% clean energy, and a compassionate society that protects immigrants.

Goal ThermometerWhile this is a first step in progressive groups like A Progressive California's efforts to boost Kevin de León for the U.S. Senate, the PAC's leaders say "this is only the beginning." I hope so. It's one of the best TV ads I've seen from an independent group all cycle. Please contribute to Kevin's campaign directly at the Blue America 2018 Senate page on the right. Replacing Feinstein with him would be one of the biggest messages progressives could send to the corrupt Inside the Beltway establishment that controls the Democratic Party as thoroughly as the corrupt Inside the Beltway establishment controls the Republican Party. Real change? Yes... we're overdue for it. If we don't do it on our side of the aisle, we're going to wind up with a series of Trumps from an electorate fed up with self-serving career politicians who think they own the government. It's time to hold Dianne Feinstein accountable for decades of mediocre governance.

The only blue item on Feinstein's Red seat is the "D" she hides behind.

Are CA voters smart enough to get rid of DIFI? Seriously?

Even if DiFi loses, scummer is still there and he still dictates policy tyrannically. And HE is against all those things Deleon says he is for.

It's not the individual any more. The individual hasn't been relevant since FDR was elected.

It's the fucking party, fools! You cannot displace that much corruption and cowardice by electing a new junior senator or house member when they are part of the fucking party! All you do is aide and abet the party by padding the caucus.

So what do you suggest, 8:29? Collaborating with your oppressor? Doing nothing and hope that some Deus ex Machina steps in and corrects things?

The pharmacy called. Your meds are ready for pick up.

I can't afford meds.

We should be doing what we should have done 35 years ago. We need to form and coalesce around a new party that *IS* progressive/liberal, not one that claims to be but clearly has not been for DECADES.

The longer we continue with this shit, the closer we get to our last and final "election" and total corporate rule.

Or are you one who believes a dozen supposedly progressive rookies added to the corrupt fascist caucus will morph them back into the party of FDR?
I'm asking if I should continue wasting my time replying to you.

Allow me to express my gratitude for Your Greatness to even deign to reply to my comments.

I have no faith in the "democratic" Party, an entity from which I fled upon the Rise of Reagan. I have yet to see any reason to change my opinion. What few worthies manage to make it past Party operatives and actually take office aren't going to change much in and of themselves, but just might represent an example of how things might improve in later elections. The verdict is out, and I watch for the color of the smoke once the ballots are burned.
