So, yeah, what is it with McConnell's bruised skin? Enquirer minds wanna know! My first supposition was that he's into a bit of rough trade. His closeted sexuality has bred whispers for decades so... I've heard "some say" that he has a skin condition that's common with the elderly but I've never seen anything like that in nursing homes and the only time I ever see people with bandaids on their knuckles, I know they've been in a fight. Did the neighbor of fellow Kentucky $enator Rand Paul pay him a visit?
"Some people" are offering that it's the result of blood thinners but I've never seen that anywhere either, and I have a lot of friends taking blood thinners. Now, "some people are saying" (Republicans) that he fell, sort of like the ol' "I ran into a door" thing. I doubt McConnell runs that fast. Perhaps his shipping magnate drug courier father-in-law had a message delivered over some drug deal or a deal with Chy-y-y-na. I'd like to think that Schummer beat him up, but Schummer is too much of a wimp. Trump or one of his brain-rotted kids might have done it if he gave Trump some sort of bad news reality check about something; all sorts of possibilities on that one. Putin? A COVID-19 side effect? Just his massive evil taking over his physical appearance like some sort of cheezy horror film?
One thing is for sure, the longer McConnell avoids giving a substantial answer, the more stories and theories will be concocted. Imagination loves to fill a void! These days, you don't even need that void! Thinking of QAnon on that one. Personally, I'd like to see it cost him re-election or, if he is re-elected, just keel over dead within hours. Although, a slow, lingering painful death for him would be more just. Does thinking that make me a bad person in the eyes of others? Like I care. Oh, and I deeply resent whatever healthcare he's getting being paid for by our taxes. Fuck him. I hope blood starts shooting from his eyes on national TV. Maybe as he gives a national TV interview on FOX "News" about the confirmation of Amy Coathanger Barrett. That might disturb all those Republican Bible thumpers, bigly! C'mon Mitch! Tell us! Do we have to wait for your alien autopsy?

Whatever the issue is with Mitch the Bitch, it isn't painful enough.
Fascism is a worldwide movement. You can't really run from it nowadays, but after this election I gotta move, regardless of the winner. One side is insane and the other is weak and afraid or perhaps they're something a lot more sinister. The alleged "smart" party is getting "outsmarted" every single day on everything from voter suppression to judicial appointments. No election is changing that.

It is indeed, KZ, only you left out an important word - "coordinated". "Fascism is a coordinated worldwide movement."
It's not a coincidence that fascism has exploded across the globe in recent years. Multinationals need fascism to continue to rake in the Big Bucks in the face of popular resistance. The Bolivian coup over lithium is just one such instance where industrial interests were clearly being served through a governmental takeover. Elon Musk's boast that "We'll coup whomever we want" reveals much about the self-proclaimed John Galts who think only they do anything worthwhile - and do it without any assistance from anyone against resistance from everyone.
The coordination of fascist activities happens at global conclaves of major corporatists and investors, whose only purpose is to address any issues which impede the collection of as much profit as possible. The annual Davos gathering is an example, a place where those involved in planning nefarious actions against humanity will "discuss" major issues facing the planet while sipping fine champagne and eating the finest foods. They enjoy a relaxed environment behind an impenetrable wall of security designed to protect them from the consequences of their actions, actions like causing climate change and imposing poverty on billions while polluting everything possible so that they don't have to pay for any health disaster they cause. They derive solutions for such problems only from the standpoint of how to minimize the effects these crises will cause to their maximal profiteering.
Fascist military contractors like Blackwater were formed to serve as the bully boys for such activities. We in the USA may only be days away from such forces being unleashed upon us to retain corporatist power over the nation.

Xi could lead China into this world, for China recently surpassed the US -earlier than predicted due to the COVID Pandemic- as the world's largest economy. The DAVOS crowd loves them some profit opportunities even if they must deal with the authoritarians who run China. Watch for them to be seen hobnobbing with Jack Ma before too much longer.
Putin would like to belong as well, but there remains a great deal of angst among the self-proclaimed economic royalty over the demise of Nicholas II. Only when Russia can swing the kind of economic clout that China can will this abate even the slightest.
A case can be made that both China and Russia are State Fascism Nations. Between billionaires like Jack Ma and the secretive Russian oligarchs, neither nation can correctly be termed "communist" anymore. Therefore, they already belong.
But just like the American Mafia regularly had wars between the families, it remains thus in the multinational corporatist world. It's nothing personal, just business.

I can see your point, DFP guy. But I don't see either Xi or putin allowing corporate primacy in their cases. Each will seek to direct and skim for themselves only.
Corporations who seek profits and global market share will play ball with them too. So it'll be yin/yan for the foreseeable. But some day? Will the global corporate reichstad decide it wants it all, and can get it?
Read what Marx et al have to say about 'late stage capitalism'. and then factor in the human capacity for unbounded greed, selected for in the world for the past 7 generations.
And, of course, factor in that democracies (the ones remaining) will fall victim to the same stupidification of their voters that has befallen the US, UK, Brazil, The Phillipines and has brought many EU members close already.
