Another GOP Crackpot, An Ohio State Rep., Refuses To Wear A Mask-- Gets Bounced From Gettysburg Museum

Candice Keller won a seat in the Ohio state House in 2016 to represent an overwhelmingly Republican 89% white district in Butler County (Hamilton, Middletown, Monroe, Oxford and Trenton) north of Cincinnati. The PVI is R+10. Keller is a garden variety right-wing Republican-- an anti-Choice and anti-LGBTQ fanatic and gun nut who denigrates the role of government. On April 28, she was defeated in the Republican primary by state Rep. George Lang for an open state Senate district (SD 4), bringing in 32.7% of the vote to Lang's 49.4%. Outside of the far right fever swamps, coverage of her loss was celebratory. "One of the most controversial figures in Ohio's General Assembly won't be back next term after a sound defeat in a Republican primary contest for a state Senate seat," reported CityBeat. "Keller has found herself at the center of political fights multiple times since she was first elected in 2016-- often due to her own controversial statements. Keller once compared Planned Parenthood to the Nazi Party, appeared on a radio program hosted by a white supremacist and, last August, blamed President Barack Obama, same sex marriage and drag queens for the deadly mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio. The Ohio GOP called on Keller to step down after the latter statement, and in January announced it would endorse Lang instead."





A couple of days ago, she and her husband were visiting Gettysburg, Pennsylvania as part of the 4th of July holiday. According to this Facebook video she put up, they were evicted from the Gettysburg Visitor Center and Museum because they refused to wear masks. She insists mandating people to wear masks is "an unconstitutional idea our leaders have come up with." Their tickets were refunded. (She previously refused to get her temperature checked when entering the Ohio state House in Columbus, claiming it would be an invasion of her privacy. Do you know what the word "idiot" means? The museum's visitors guide clearly state's that "For the health and safety of all, individuals who enter the building should wear a face covering. Face coverings are not required for children under the age of 2 or for those with medical issues." Butler County, where this walking freak show lives, has had 1,547 confirmed cases and another 36 on Saturday.
