What WON'T Trump Lie About?
>
Really, is there anything the illegitimate resident finds too sacred to lie about to advance his own sense of himself and his personal interests? It's just a rhetorical question. Don't bother answering in the comments section; I know the answer and so do you-- and so do the 53 Senate monkeys. Some subjects of his prevarications are more obvious than others. Like the tape Igor made of Señor T screaming about firing Marie Yovanovitch, the anti-corruption ambassador to Ukraine. "The recording," reported ABC News, "appears to contradict statements by President Trump and support the narrative that has been offered by Parnas during broadcast interviews in recent days. Sources familiar with the recording said the recording was made during an intimate April 30, 2018, dinner at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. Trump has said repeatedly he does not know Parnas, a Soviet-born American who has emerged as a wild card in Trump’s impeachment trial, especially in the days since Trump was impeached. 'Get rid of her!' is what the voice that appears to be President Trump’s is heard saying. 'Get her out tomorrow. I don't care. Get her out tomorrow. Take her out. Okay? Do it.'"
So he said he doesn't know anyone-- like Lev or Igor-- he was at that intimate dinner with. Does he mean "know" in a Biblical sense? Or does he just have intimate dinners with strangers and order them to fire U.S. ambassadors over dessert?
But who in this country of ours hasn't come to expect that kind of lying from Trump? How about this kind lying, though? Yesterday, the Pentagon admitted that 34 American service members have been diagnosed with traumatic brain injuries following the Iranian missile attack on U.S. forces in Iraq a few weeks ago. First Trump claimed there were no injuries at all. Then, this week, while at Davos, Trump belittled the injuries, calling them "headaches" and "not very serious."
Ted Lieu actively served in the U.S. Air Force from 1995 to 1999 and then enlisted in the Air Force Reserve Command where he serves today as a colonel. He takes the well-being of the country's fighting men and women very seriously-- and isn't amused by Trump's disparagement and mistreatment of them. "Our men and women in uniform,' he told us this morning, "deserve a Commander in Chief who understands the nature of the risks they face. Traumatic brain injuries aren't just headaches and the fact that I even have to say that is disgraceful. Anyone who has paid even a modicum of attention to military issues over the past two decades would know this. Sad!"
