The Kakistocracy-- On The 4th Of July

>

Tomorrow some of the handful of Republicans who see through Trump and understand the dangers of his authoritarian nature and understand the threat he is to everything America stands for, are running the ad above-- the very Republican-oriented ad above-- on Fox News "to remind our fellow Americans, Republicans and conservatives that we are a nation of immigrants, and stronger for it." Ronald Reagan, just a few short years ago, once the penultimate symbol of Republicanism, means little more to today's brainwashed GOP base than Abe Lincoln, Dwight Eisenhower or Teddy Roosevelt (i.e., close to nothing). The party of Trump has no room for other idols besides Señor Trumpanzee and his wretched family-- other than, perhaps, and temporarily, Scott Pruitt, Betsy DeVos, Stephen Miller...

The ad was made by the Becoming American Initiative. The link will take you to their pro-immigration website-- the opposite of the GOP's growing xenophobic obsession. "Our nation is a nation of immigrants... More than any other country, our strength comes from our own immigrant heritage and our capacity to welcome those from other lands," is their motto, something uttered by Reagan in 1981. The GOP has changed a lot-- mostly in the last year and a half-- since then. Linda Chavez and her group think these numbers below are going to impress people who voted for and still fully support the con man and fascist in the White House? They won't.

This morning, the Washington Post reported that "The number of people receiving visas to move permanently to the United States is on pace to drop 12 percent in President Trump’s first two years in office." Among the Muslim country's on the travel ban list-- Yemen, Syria, Iran, Libya and Somalia, many of which are being bombed by American jets-- the number is down by not 12% but by 81%. Meanwhile... today's New York Daily News, Trumpanzee's edgy home-town newspaper:

Anyway... happy 4th of July tomorrow. Stay safe. And, if you've never heard Charlie Chaplin's "Great Dictator Speech," take a look. Remind you of anyone we know? Justin Trudeau? Angela Merkel? Emmanuel Macron? Theresa May? Obama? A Clinton? Bernie? Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? No? Who then? Who? What are we going to do about it. Keep your eye on the ball-- November.

"...Ronald Reagan ... once the penultimate symbol of Republicanism, means little more to today's brainwashed GOP base than Abe Lincoln, Dwight Eisenhower or Teddy Roosevelt..."

Get real. Today, Abe Lincoln would be unelectable since he would be a man without a political party. He'd be neither a Nazi nor a democrap. Maybe a Green. But nobody would ever hear of him.
Eisenhower, as an ex general, would fit into the most left wing of today's democraps. Teddy would be on the BA slate as a progressive democrap.

Eisenhower and Teddy might also eschew the 'craps over their colossal corruption thing.

If you can know all that has happened since 1980 and STILL celebrate the 4th, you are delusional.

Since that seminal year of 2008, I have observed on the 4th what I thought would possibly be our final year of existence. My confidence in this is far higher this year. I E X P E C T this to be our last one. The fireworks displays won't end. But the reason for the celebration shall.

That ad is full of lies. Reagan was anything but a champion of freedom unless there was a seven-figure bank balance connected to it.

These quotes reveal that Reagan would have been at home with the Trump border agenda:

"But the simple truth is that we've lost control of our own borders, and no nation can do that and survive."

"The ongoing migration of persons to the United States in violation of our laws is a serious national problem detrimental to the interests of the United States."

"Sixty percent of our immigrants are admitted merely because they have relatives here. Many of these people are not immediate relative, but are part of extended families. The nepotistic U.S. policy lets in relatives then lets in the relatives' relatives, and so on, creating an endless and ever growing chain of new immigrants."

Reagan was a champion of freedom for corporations.

His statements wrt border security was simple pandering to the hateful white Nazi base; dog whistling, if you will. He and his campaign guru were skilled at that.

His beloved corporations loved the cheap labor. You'd be hard-pressed to find anything he actually DID that was in any way similar to trump on that issue. talk is cheap.

the president who did the most trump-like DEEDS on this was obamanation.

"What are we going to do about it.(?)"

Why do you ask? You want us to elect more democraps. How can that possibly help?

You've already proved that the vast majority of their new candidates are total shit... worse than they ever were before. The leadershit, minus Crowley, isn't going anywhere. The money continues to hedge, bribing both parties. The democraps have not demonstrated fidelity to anyone but those who copiously bribe.

So... What are we going to do about it? Why, nothing. nothing at all. as usual.
