Face it, when the latest mass slaughter of innocents happened on Wednesday, you know the first thought in the minds of psychotics like Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and the rest of the graft-grubbing dirtbags in Washington was not for the slaughtered children, their teachers, and their families but for their own loved ones in the NRA and the rest of the gun lobby. Uber-lowlifes like Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell only see each shooting as a golden opportunity to pocket more cash from the NRA in return for their silence. You know there is no doubt that their first phone calls were aimed at raising more money off of this latest tragedy. Even the shooting of their colleagues at a congressional softball game didn't change that. Not to worry, though, they'll have their staffers write up another insincere "thoughts and prayers" statement, while, they, smirk.

The real problem is that We the People aren't doing our duty as citizens to rid ourselves of such low-life scum from elected office at all levels. We have the power. Do we have The Will?
We only theoretically have the power. Our 'power' is a function of the degree of intellect, maturity and objectivity we can bring to bear on our situation. At present, we have damn near zero of these.
What we lack is the intellect and humanity to make an informed decision.
And I have to include DWT here too. Any objective assessment of the democrap PARTY would conclude that they'll never ever be useful to fix any of today's big or small problems. They're too corrupt. Have been for decades.
But WE, DWT included, lack the intellect and objectivity to come to grips with this fact. If WE, DWT included, possessed those, WE, DWT included, would have long ago started working on:
1) killing the irretrievably corrupt and evil democrap party
2) conceiving of, building and coalescing around a truly left party to fill that massive void.
But WE, DWT especially, are not doing this... are we, DWT??
Our power is more than theoretical. The question is whether we will become angry enough to shut off the idiot box and actually do something.

We haven't wielded any power since 1976. Maybe since 1960.
Voters, especially on the left, have turtled for up to 6 decades now. There are scant few voters still alive who actually wielded their power. Most alive today have no idea what it is to have electoral power. They're content to blithely engage in the pretense even though the likelihood of their vote being accurately counted is an unknown less than 1 and the likelihood of the party they support actually representing their interests is ZERO.
I'd call any talk of power theoretical... mythical even, unless and until American voters show a pulse.
It occurred to me that the NRA may well be the Achilles heel of the Repug party with their fanatical insistence of supporting the AR-15. Using my intrinsic Swedish logic, I’m sure that there is a specific short-list of weapons (like a bazooka, or better yet a tank) that normal US citizens are not allowed to operate, purchase, or shoot. With that said, why wouldn’t the NRA back down and add AR-15 to that list? By being bull-headed about that one issue, the Repugs may win the battle but ultimately lose the war come next election since public sentiment is at fever-pitch right now concerning this sensitive topic.
Watching Tuesday night's Town Hall meeting in Florida was inspiring … and there’s plenty more to come with next month’s March For Our Lives movement which is catching on like wildfire. One postulate that I’ve learned in life is that you NEVER get in the middle of parents and the safety of their children ... which I feel is a much more explosive and decisive issue than abortion or climate change. Let’s all watch the Repugs and their NRA bedfellows sink like the Titanic in the coming elections.
