Pivoting Right Always Comes Very Naturally To Hillary Clinton
>
I'm so old I remember when the Hillary Clinton I've come to despise beyond reasonableness was blaming Bernie for Sandy Hook during the New York primary. Look, New Yorkers are overwhelmingly anti-gun-- and, it worked. I literally heard a first-time Bernie contributor saying "I want my $27 back"-- without a trace of irony-- while she snarled and foamed at the mouth during the debate about guns. The Pennsylvania voters she's wooing for tomorrow's primary, however, aren't quite so anti-gun, so-- always the craven opportunist-- she pivoted back to a distinctly Bernie-like position on guns.
She brought up her family’s cottage overlooking Lake Winola, not far from here. And in a campaign where she has spoken forcefully about gun control, she recalled learning to shoot a gun during her time at that cottage. And of course she was broadcasting a very different message in Hartford, Connecticut where she portrayed herself, again, as being motivated as a politicians not by the greed, avarice and list for power that dictates her every waking moment but by the unspeakable sadness of the children killed by gun violence, something her actions as Secretary of State prove beyond a doubt she cares as much about as when her limo runs over an ant. The assembled families of the Sandy Hook victims are props in her ugly campaign against Bernie.
...Mrs. Clinton brought up personal experience when talking about her support for new gun control measures, an area where she has tried to gain an upper hand against Senator Bernie Sanders.
“I want to be really clear about this, because I learned how to shoot a gun behind our cottage in Lake Winola,” Mrs. Clinton said. “And I know how important gun ownership and particularly hunting is here in northeastern Pennsylvania.”
“I want you to know that we can’t ignore the Second Amendment, and we can’t ignore that 33,000 people a year die from gun violence,” she said. “I think we are smart enough to figure out how to do that.”
“I am here to tell you," she shrieked, "I will use every single minute of every day, if I’m fortunate to be your president, looking for ways to save lives so we can change the gun culture.”
Other Clintonistas, from Blue Dog Gabby Giffords to New Dem multimillionaire Elizabeth Esty were banging the drums of war against Bernie on the gun issue for her in Connecticut while she was talking about shooting Bambi in Pennsylvania.
Giffords, who was one of the most far right Democrats in Congress before she was gunned down by a lunatic in Arizona: "Time and time again, Hillary Clinton has done and said what is right, not what is politically expedient. She is the only candidate I trust to stand up to the corporate gun lobby’s intimidation and bullying." No mention of the money bundled for her campaign by gun lobbyists who are part of her operation. Busy weekend with all that pivoting back and forth across the spectrum. One thing Clinton is almost consistent on, though, her total lack of an ability to be truthful or sincere. In that way she's nearly as bad as Ted Cruz.
Back in gun-friendly Pennsylvania, corporate whore ex-Gov. Ed Rendell, a Clinton surrogate suggested that Clinton's crowds, unlike Bernie's unruly, unwashed mobs, are never disrespectful. They're also tiny compared to his. Help keep her out of the White House. Haven't there been more than enough presidents just like her already?
