Fall Is Here-- Time For Republicans To Reap What Farmers Have Sown

>

- by Dave Sherbula

Fall is here and lies are in the air and on the airwaves. There is nothing quite like the smell of a manure wagon on a crisp cold morning... it smells... just so Republican.

Ron Johnson in Wisconsin is going on and on about how Social Security is a ponzi scheme. The money is gone. Nothing but IOU's. Huh. So you don't want the world buying T-Bill's and T-Bonds because they are worthless? Those are all IOU's. Thank God the rest of the World doesn't have the same opinion as you.

Republican farmers here in Wisconsin are harvesting their crops and donating to Republicans-- the so called "free" traders-- who have supported tariffs on sugar and ethanol to protect them. And Archer-Daniels-Midland, Cargill and other agribusiness mega-corporations. Why allow Americans to use cheap imported sugar when you can be forced to buy a more unhealthy alternative... high fructose corn sweetener.

Or more expensive corn ethanol. Selective free trade. To their base's benefit. The same people who cry about Democrats and Unions. Hello? Can you say hypocrisy?

Hey Ron Johnson, are you for eliminating the tariffs? Your company sells products overseas; you should be all for eliminating tariffs.

Why the gullible public still buys the poor family farmer crap amazes me. Those farmers all disappeared in the 70's. The farmers of today own millions of dollars worth of land they inherited.  Or, farm land large corporations own and lease out. The worst part is grain farmers don't employ anybody. It is all mechanized with high tech machinery. One 60 year old man can farm hundreds of acres by himself. No sweat.

But they need a market for the product to make the coin. That's where the tariffs come in.

Republicans only believe in free trade when it hurts labor. Not when it hurts their base.

And if you think for a minute companies are not in collusion, you need therapy.

I'll give you an example. I go to Mexican grocery store for various items. They carry Mexican made Coca Cola. I had one. It tasted much better. I asked the lady at the counter why. She told me they use real cane sugar to make Coca Cola in Mexico and it tastes much better. That's why they carry it.

Then I read an article about this. Coca cola is not happy. They wanted to stop the importation of  Coke from other countries. They can't figure out how to do it legally. Unlike the pharmaceutical companies. I guess they didn't buy enough congressmen-- or employee as many curvaceous lobbyists.

Do ya think Archer-Daniels Midland might not like competition? I would have loved to hear the phone calls between Decatur, IL and Atlanta, GA.

If people stop using corn sweetener and allow ethanol in tariff free, what will they do with all that corn?

Maybe feed the starving people of the world and import Cuban sugar...

Just a crazy commie pinko Democratic thought...
