Bob and Ray Tonight: Barry Campbell talks about his opening (and closing) night

>

We saw part 1 of this clip from the early '50s NBC Bob and Ray Show last night. Part 2 is an episode of a TV version of the timeless radio drama Mary Backstayge, Noble Wife. Note who plays both Mary B and Jessica Culpepper!

In Night 3 of BOB AND RAY TONIGHT, actor Barry Campbell talks to Finley Quality Network talk-show host Larry Lovebreath about the opening (and closing) night of his play The Tender T-bone (a title that Larry has ascertained is not, by the way, "something out of Shakespeare"), including that awkward patch in the second act when Barry forgot his line and "for some 20 or 30 mintues no one said a word." -- Ken

THE AUDIENCE HAD "A PERFECTLY
CHARMING EVENING IN THE THEATER"

BARRY CAMPBELL: Three people got up out of their seats and came right up on the stage, and one with great hostility singled me out. I couldn't get over it.
LARRY LOVEBREATH: Did the rest of the audience realize that wasn't part of the show?
BARRY CAMPBELL: Oh, I don't know. They were walking up and down the aisles, visiting with one another. They were having a perfectly charming evening in the theater.
