Tonight Barney Frank conducted a health care town hall in his Massachusetts district and, needless to say, crazed birthers and deathers and every variety of wingnut came crawling out of the muck. I wish Barney could explain to President Obama that this hard core 30% of kooks or so-- across the country, who spend their time listening to Limbaugh and watching Beck and O'Reilly-- will never like him and he might as well give up trying to persuade them. Most members of Congress kiss ass to even the craziest of constituents. Watch how Barney Frank, year after year voted the smartest man in Congress, handled the craziest of his constituents. And if you like... come over and let him know.

Good for you Frank! It's about time some of you Democrats show some back bone besides the President! Maxine Waters has back bone too. Maybe you can lend some courage to your other peers in Congress. I watched a clip of this town hall that showed the “saucer-eyed” woman claiming that Obama’s health care plans are similar to Adolf Hitler’s euthanasia policies in Nazi Germany. Frank’s reaction was restrained and totally appropriate. This woman in particular struck me as the type who would be in a religious cult. She sounded totally brain-washed and more than a little demented. What struck me was her total belief and commitment to the jibberish that was coming out of her mouth. Being confronted by that kind of mentality can be deeply disturbing and I thought Frank handled it as well as any person could under the circumstances. The sad fact is that the people who are afraid of change and think the status quo is preferable to reform as grotesquely misinformed. They have been far too willing to accept the outrageous statements by people who clearly hate the President, while being totally unwilling to listen to any calm explanation of the facts. What we’re seeing now is a form of ideologically-driven insanity and it is very upsetting to see. Makes you wonder if terrorists have put something in our water supply.

NHS Highland has been given until the end of the year by [THE IRA/SINN DEATH PANEL] to prepare a [LEPRECHAUN] language plan.
The draft plan envisages bilingual signs erected outside and inside hospitals and community health centres and the language being promoted in stationary, vehicle livery and advertising and at public meetings hosted by the board.

Yes, politicians are shocked and appalled that constituents are taking the time to go to town hall meetings and tell politicians what they think. Politicians are not used to this, and it hurts their self-esteem. They are superior to constituents, and won't take any nonsense from them.
