Have Senator Grassley help you get a job with the federal gov't, so you can have health insurance just like his!
>
Health Care for America Now (HCAN) asks: "What’s Senator Grassley's plan on how you can get health care? He says you should get a job with the federal government, just like him." You'll note that the senator displays a quite extreme lack of interest in talking about his federal employee's health insurance.
Noah passed along this e-mailing he got from HCAN. He added this note:
"I love the idea of flooding Senator Grasshole's office with job applications! Apply today!"
Did you hear Senator Grassley's outrageous proposal to fix the health care system?
Chuck Grassley, the Republican taking the lead for his party on health care in the U.S. Senate, was asked by a constituent at a town hall meeting in Iowa why everyone can't have health care benefits as good as Grassley gets.
Senator Grassley's answer? Get a job like his.
You've got to see this video, click here to watch:
We are advertising this video online in Iowa (using the image above), so all of Senator Grassley's constituents see it.
Senator Grassley can give you and me health care as good as he has, all he has to do is support President Obama's plan. But so far, Senator Grassley's answer is NO. Instead, he thinks you should get a job like his.
That's not a real solution. So I'm asking you to put some pressure on Senator Grassley and apply for a job with his office, so you can get health care benefits as good as he has.
Click here to watch the video and apply for a job with Senator Grassley. We'll deliver your applications to his office in Iowa.
Senator Grassley should be for real health reform, including a strong public health insurance option.Well over half of his fellow Iowans are for real reform, and his constituents are asking him direct questions at town hall meetings. But Senator Grassley is out of touch - he's against real health care reform and he's dismissing his constituents instead of honestly answering their questions.
Click here to apply for a job with Senator Grassley, to show him America needs real health care reform so we can all have benefits as good as he gets.
We must push back at these obstructionists if we're going to pass a law to give everyone quality, affordable health care this year.
To your health,
Levana Layendecker

Ken,
Yes...Senator Grassley(R-Let them eat cake) comment is disgusting. But at least its honest. He doesn't give a flying fuck about any of us, but how different is it from someone like Baucus (D-Bend over for anyone who gives me money)? He pretends to listen and care and you know in the end he will serve his masters I am working as hard as any of us to be heard on real reform. But these politicians are so bought off they don't even hide it anymore.
What I find fascinating in the clip is that our Chuck seems to be genuinely peeved by the questioner's persistence. He really doesn't seem to see to see how his health insurance is in any way relevant to the discussion.
These people really need to get out more. Of course, as we see here, even when they're physically outside the Beltway, their minds are . . . well, somewhere else.
Ken
Lee, You're right about Senawhore Baucus of course, but I made a point of pointing out his idiocy and corruption (along with that of Schumer and Reid) a week or so ago. Today was Sen. Grassley's turn. They are all clueless about our lives, not to mention arrogant and insensitive. They don't give a damn. It's all about the perks and bribes from the K Street Bribery Squads with these lowlifes.
As a non-native Iowan living in smalltown Iowa, all I can say is Iowa is a strange place, not easily stereotyped or catalogued.
Here we have wingnut Grassley, the epitome of cornpone hick, alongside progressive Harkin. And both seem equally loved by the voters. Not to mention a straight-laced culture that seems ok with gay marriage.
An interesting place, go figure.
It is obscene how the people we elect and those we keep in Gitmo get better medical care than the rest of us. And I include myself as a veteran who gets what one could only typify as marginal, and nearly dangerous medical care...
Excuse me; why are you criticizing a Repub senator when the Democrats are in control of the Whitehouse, and both branches of congress? The Democrats are responsible for the diasaster that is healthcare. Why is it that the President refused to pledge that his family only receive the same healthcare benefits as any national plan. Instead he said that he wanted to only provide his family with the "best healthcare" This tells you about how he expects the quality of healthcare for the average American to be.
Signed,
An Independent Minority voter.
Simple answer to why we're criticizing a Republican senator: Grassley is the ranking minority member on the Senate Finance Committe, and his buddy Montana Sen. Max Baucus, the chairman, has been insisting on developing a "bipartisan" bill. If Senator Baucus doesn't see reason (and if you're new to DWT, you may not realize how often and how hard we pommel Baucus -- just use the "tags" to check that out), that means Grassley has veto power over any bill passing through the Senate, more or less as if he were a committee chairman.
And again, if you don't think we pommel Democrats regularly for not supporting meaningful health care reform, well, then this is clearly your first visit. Welcome! Nice to have you with us.
Ken
I love it. Maybe he will start posting available positions on Jobnob.com. Hehe
