Powell And Limbaugh In Cat Fight As Prelude To National Address By Darth Cheney
>
Yesterday the RNC hot-doggers who have been demanding that the GOP adopt a formal resolution labeling the Democrats "socialists," totally backed down. Maybe they read John Amato's post about how utterly irrelevant they've been sounding and how counterproductive their gibberish is. Or maybe they took a look at the polling numbers that clearly show how deeply they dig themselves into a hole-- in the eyes of the voters-- when they are seen to be following extremists and disliked partisans like Limbaugh, Cheney, Coulter, Boehner and Gingrich. The results of the latest CNN poll (just 2 hours before their socialism vote) must have devastated them:
63% of respondents said that the policies being proposed by the President would push the nation in the right direction, while 57% feel the same way about congressional Democrats. Republican leaders in Congress don't fare nearly as well. Most Americans agree that GOP policies would move the country in the wrong direction and only 39% of those polled said that the policies of GOP congressional leaders-- John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Mike Pence, Pete Sessions, Thaddeus McCotter, Paul Ryan, Miss McConnell, Jon Kyl, Lamar Alexander and John Cornyn-- would be good for America. And despite a concerted effort by Hate Talk radio and Fox TV, most Americans blame the recession on the Republican Party and their policies of greed and selfishness.
Meanwhile Colin Powell rebuked Cheney and Limbaugh for their narrow-minded views of what the Republican Party is. Speaking in front of 1,500 businessmen in Boston Powell talked about the shrinking Republican tent and the role Cheney and Limbaugh are playing in shrinking it further.
"Rush Limbaugh says, 'Get out of the Republican Party.' Dick Cheney says, 'He's already out.' I may be out of their version of the Republican Party, but there's another version of the Republican Party waiting to emerge once again."
The poisonous Limbaugh, who is widely disliked by the American public tore right into Powell, who is the most admired Republican in the country. On his show yesterday, the Pig Man mocked Powell: "And now there's an agenda, an emerging agenda, that he's waiting for for the Republican Party? The only thing emerging here is Colin Powell's ego. Colin Powell represents the stale, the old, the worn-out GOP that never won anything."

You mean Powell, I assume.
Thanks! I fixed it
God, I hate that ridiculous Limbaugh. But I hate "Darth Cheney" more. (Haha, I like that.) Did you read Maureen Dowd's column, where she calls him "Obama's ball and Cheney"?
