It's A New Day

This week saw more than one victory. The symbolism of Obama's election was not just breathtaking; it was something the entire world rejoiced in-- and something all "real Americans" basked in. And then there was the massive repudiation of the narrow-minded bigotry and reactionary politics that is today's Republican Party. America is not the "center-right country" this week's losers are still insisting it is. This week's election was for progressive ideals and values, not just for Democrats and not just for the potent symbolism of Barack Obama.
