ENVISIONING A JOHN W. McBUSH CABINET

>

In case you're worried that a McCain cabinet would be nothing but a bunch of avaricious lobbyists-- like his campaign-- I have good news for you. (First, as a follow up to the story about how he led the opposition to a huge Airforce contact for Boeing that went to Europe, putting thousands of American workers on the unemployment line, it turns out McCain's "men of honor" campaign staff, the Lobbyist Express, was behind the whole deal. AP this morning: "Top current advisers to Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign last year lobbied for a European plane maker that beat Boeing to a $35 billion Air Force tanker contract, taking sides in a bidding fight that McCain has tried to referee for more than five years. Two of the advisers gave up their lobbying work when they joined McCain's campaign." McCain's campaign plane, of course, is a European-made Airbus. Clinton and Obama both use American-made ATA 737-800's.)

Anyway, today's Roll Call and Raw Story indicate that McCain will also gathered around him a gaggle of Neocons and longtime Bush Regime senatorial rubber stamps to fill out whatever spaces are left after the lobbyists get their jobs.

Atop McCain's short list, according to closely aligned Republican Senators and aides, likely would be two of the Arizonan's most vocal supporters: Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) for attorney general or Sen. Joe Lieberman (ID-Conn.) as secretary of State, Defense or Homeland Security. Graham and Lieberman have been stumping for McCain for months and are considered two of the most loyal and ardent backers of his Iraq War policy.

...Other long-shot possibilities for McCain could include Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) at Treasury or Justice, Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) at Veterans Affairs, or even conservative Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.), who is retiring in 2010, as attorney general or secretary of Health and Human Services.

Of course, the real good news is that this nightmare scenario of a third Bush term is unlikely no matter which of the Democrats is nominated. One thing are Americans know is they've had enough of George W McBush.

UPDATE: AND THE GIRLS ARE OFF ON ANOTHER WILD JAUNT TO THE MIDDLE EAST

And all on the taxpayers dime. The three stooges are charging the Department of Defense for their campaign trip to Europe and the Middle East tomorrow. How much will we be wasting for McBush's photo ops with Lieberman and Lindsey Graham (who is hoping for more bargains on cheap carpets like the darling ones he bought last time he annoyed everyone by traveling to Iraq)?
