WILLARD'S LAST STAND

>

Last bulwark of the Anyone But McCain Coalition

So while polls show that Willard-- despite Tagg having wrestled Susan Collins to the matt yesterday-- no longer has a viable campaign outside of a personal checkbook, the ultimate upper management delusional creep cites Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, Hugh Hewitt and other far right America-hating extremists as the reason why he believes he will triumph on Tuesday.

The irrational and visceral hatred right-wing radicals feel for McCain is all that stands between Willard and the reality that the only way he'll ever get into the White House is with an invitation from the a future president's social secretary. And that crazy extremist antipathy is not enough. Still he just predicted on CNN that his loony party's "conservative base will rally behind him on Super Tuesday in order to prevent John McCain from winning the Republican nomination."
"What I have to do is continue to see what's been happening the last few days, specifically that is conservatives across the country are saying, 'whoa, we have to get behind Mitt Romney,'" he said on CNN's Late Edition.

"You've got people like Rush Limbaugh and Laura Ingraham and the list goes on and on and on-- Hugh Hewitt, Lars Larson-- conservative voices, both from radio and from publications, are saying, 'you know what, we've got to get behind Mitt Romney,'" he continued. "We really can't afford John McCain as the nominee of our party."

Following McCain's victory in Florida Tuesday, some prominent conservatives have expressed dismay with the prospect of the Arizona senator capturing the Republican nomination. On Wednesday, talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh said McCain's rise was the product of a 'fractured' conservative base and an "uninspiring" GOP presidential field.

Is Willard embracing the idea that he's what people mean when they point out that "uninspiring GOP presidential field?" Will his new campaign slogan be "A Less Pathetic Pygmy Than McCain?"
"He [McCain] is not the choice of conservatives, as opposed to the choice of the Republican establishment-- and that distinction is key," Limbaugh said. "The Republican establishment, which has long sought to rid the party of conservative influence since Reagan, is feeling a victory today as well as our friends in the media."

Meanwhile, conservative commentator Ann Coulter said Thursday she would support Hillary Clinton over McCain.

Poor Hillary choked on ABC TV this morning when George Stephanopoulos told her Ann Coulter plans to hit the campaign trail on her behalf if McCain wins the Republican presidential nomination. I wonder if the proto-fascist harridan will extend the same threat to Obama.

UPDATE: A WORSE VIPER EVEN THAN COULTER

Think hard. Hint: a corrupt K Street senator who was defeated by a greater margin than any of the right wing loons who lost in 2006. Yes-- Man on Dog. Willard is really scraping the bottom of the barrel now; of course, so is Santorum. But in his mania to stop McCain, he's endorsed the pathetic Willard. It's an embarrassing tale, but Santorum, who pestered and begged McCain to give him the veneer of manistream conservatism in 2006 by campaigning for him-- which McCain did-- has now recorded a really vicious robocall for Willard to use against that same McCain:
"Hello, this is Senator Rick Santorum calling to let you know I am supporting Mitt Romney and urging you to support him next Tuesday.

"As Republican leader in the U.S. Senate, I worked hard to stop the democrats and help pass a conservative agenda. A few senators like John McCain stood in our way. John McCain voted against the president’s tax cuts, worked with Ted Kennedy to pass what many people call amnesty for illegal aliens and he even opposes the marriage amendment that says that marriage is between man and woman.

"As a conservative I don’t agree with McCain on many issues and I don’t think he has the temperament and leadership ability to move the country in the right direction. Please join me and other conservative in voting for Mitt Romney this Tuesday."
