ABC News is reporting that the evidence is too old to use under Florida's 3 year statute of limitations. "Florida did not start a criminal investigation of Foley until November 2006, making it 'nearly impossible to prosecute' an explicit instant message Foley sent to a 17-year-old high school student in 2003." The fact that Foley was almost physically molesting young boys and men is something the authorities have refused to even consider even though several boys who have admitted having sex with have have spoken publicly about it. It was bad enough for Republicans to be confronted with lewd e-mailed mash-notes and IMs from the congressman to pages and other young men he was soliciting for sex, but to have to take it to its logical conclusion-- the open secret that Foley had been having sex with boys and young men for years-- is too much for them to handle. So they buried it-- with the help of the traditional media.

"The fact that Foley's getting away with it is symptomatic of how things work in Washington," said our pal Lane Hudson, the man who finally published the e-mails and did the investigating the authorities refused to do. "Republicans in Congress knew about it for years and did nothing about it, the FBI did nothing about it, and the media failed in its responsibility to properly investigate it."

I wonder if we could talk Lane into investigating the links between the murders of Ralph Gonzalez, David Abrami, Robert Drake and Bryan Kocis with Patrick McHenry (R-NC).
