DID YOU GET YOUR DCCC SOLICITATION E-MAIL TODAY? THEY NEED TO BE REMINDED WHO THEY WORK FOR

>

Many of us got spammed by Chris Van Hollen, chair of the DCCC, today. CVH seems to be a good guy and a good congressman. His voting record is excellent and, unlike his odious predessessor, Rahm Emanuel, he really does believe in grassroots democracy. I have no beef with him. But his e-mail this morning is laughable-- and badly timed. He wants to launch an August offensive; good idea. May I suggest he start with the list of treacherous Democrats at that link a couple lines back and with the ones at these lists? Why should progressives contribute to an organziation that spends almost all of it's money re-electing weak, fearful incumbents who always vote against progressive values? We shouldn't. In fact, we should work to defeat them.

First watch their campaign video. It's good. I wish it were true.

CVH writes that "In 2006, Democrats won because Democrats fought back-- early and aggressively. We held the Republicans accountable for Rubber Stamping the President's disastrous policies for America." Simplistic but not without merit. This year grassroots Democrats should start early too-- holding Democrats who have rubber stamped Bush's disastrous policies accountable.

Our first priority should be primaries against reactionary Democrats like Dan Lipinski (IL), Al Wynn (MD), John Barrow (GA) and to protect progressives against challenges from reactionary Democratic insiders like the ones who are challenging Steve Cohen (TN), Darcy Burner (WA), John Laesch (IL), Eric Massa (NY), Angie Paccione (CO) and an incredible Senate candidate we'll be meeting next Saturday, Rick Noriega (TX). It's important that we don't give any resources to Democrats who consistently work against our core values, senators like Mary Landrieu (LA), Max Baucus (MT), Mark Pryor (AR) and House members like Jim Marshall (GA), Chris Carney (PA), Brad Ellsworth (IN), Jason Altmire (PA), Dan Boren (OK), Joe Donnelly (IN), Heath Shuler (NC), Baron Hill (IN), Jim Matheson (UT). These are Democrats who can only be re-elected with our money. Don't donate to the DCCC and DSCC and they will be defeated. At that point Insider Democrats might learn they work for us.

Forget the DCCC and the DSCC. Donate directly to your candidates and to grassroots groups you can trust, like, hopefully Blue America.

Al Wynn's opponent is Donna Edwards, a true progressive who almost beat Wynn last year. She's worthy of your attentions. www.donnaedwardsforcongress.com is the place to learn more about her.

Oh yes, I got my spam from them as well.

I wouldn't give them money if they were the last bastion of hope on the planet. Because I can't trust them as far as I can toss them at this point.

That spot is pathetic. And whose idea was it to have the "Smucker's" guy voice it?

I got their spam in my inbox this morning as well. I wondered how long it would take for you to throw it back in their face, Howie! It's why we LOVE you, man.
