THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM'S MESSAGE OF HOPE FOR AMERICAN PATRIOTS

>

David Strathairn represents Cheney-like Evil in the movie

Look, I don't want to give away the ending of The Bourne Ultimatum, but I saw it today and I want to recommend it to anyone depressed that the cowardly Democrats aren't moving forward with genuine, post-knuckle-wrapping accountability for the members of the Bush Regime. The movie is exciting, as you would expect, but also uplifting as the seemingly untouchable Bush-Cheney Forces of Darkness find themselves facing patriots made of sterner stuff than our own limp Democrats.

I looked around online and none of the reviews I found were too fixated on the political analogies that were so apparent to me in the film. And then I found Stephanie Zacharek's Salon review, which kind of shames the drivel the NY Times and, especially, the Washington Post is passing off for reviews. Like myself, though probably not like author and creator Robert Ludlum, she sees Bourne as "a freethinking leftist American patriot... [who] emerges as the kind of troubled but resolute hero we most need these days, a figure who insists on peering through the murk rather than letting it block the truth."
