MITCH McCONNELL (R-KY): "MALE IMPERSONATOR"
>
A few weeks ago when DWT exposed Bush's bitch Mitch as a quintessential hypocritical closet case, we were savagely attacked by a bunch of crazed far right websites. I wonder if they'll go after Rolling Stone now that they've outed McConnell too.
Matt Taibbi did a story on the tussle over ending the occupation of Iraq and kind of matter of factly refers to Bush's #1 Senate enabler as "male impersonator Mitch McConnell." The story isn't about McConnell being gay. It just mentions it in passing. I'm not certain how many copies of Rolling Stone get sold in Kentucky but I suspect that in the next week almost as many people in KY will know Kentucky has a closeted gay U.S. Senator as already do in Washington, DC.

As much as I think it's fair game for Mr. Taibbi (or anyone) to out Bush's Bitch (Mitch), I fail to see how calling him "male impersonator" is doing that... Is he implying gay people aren't (real) men? If so, isn't that a bit offensive? Sure, knowing what you and others have said about the (fine) senator from Kentucky leads me to the conclusion that this oblique reference is about McConnell's homosexuality... but to what end? A cheap shot? Maybe it's another joke we just don't get.
I guess I just want to see something less veiled before I claim the MSM is outing Mitch.
Ord, doesn't Adam's fine art prove anything?
Ha, my mistake. QED.
You got to admit the picture is great. I am so tired of these closet cases giving gay people a bad name. His total support of the worst President in US history also says something about him as a man, not just a gay man. I am anxious to see if his office comments on this article, I doubt it. As a Bush Republican, you must lie right up to being taken off to jail.
This is OUT-rageous! Just love to read Repugnican outings! It's the least we can do - they brought us Iraq and destruction of the American spirit and economy, and we bring them a gay mirror - quite the stuff of fables...
although this one is all about truth.
Great story.
If you want to laugh about the closet-cases in the bush administration go view my new video.

Out'em all!!
He's not saying gay men are 'male impersonators,' he's saying closeted yet homophobic gay senators are 'male impersonators.'
I don't know about you, but I'd say that any gay man who sits comfortably in the closet while passing laws that harm other gay men is a 'male impersonator' -- too weak to admit he's gay for fear of the attack of the Dobsonites.
Maybe "straight impersonator" would make more sense, because the connotation of Taibbi's phrase is that gay men, closeted or otherwise, are "women" or not fully "male," which is total homophobic BS.
