BUSH DARES CONGRESS TO IMPEACH HIM

>

A few days ago I posed the question: does Bush want to provoke a constitutional crisis and impeachment hearings? His incompetence, his record of abysmal failure, his smug arrogance, his divine right approach to governance... have combined to profoundly and, probably irreconcilably, alienate the public, the Congress, our allies, his own party. (Take a look at the stark, chilling renunciation of all things Bush by lifelong right wing ideologue Rod Dreher, a senior writer at the National Review.)

Bush has taped an interview set to air tomorrow evening on 60 Minutes. He says he's sending another 21,500 troops to Baghdad "no matter what" Congress says or does. "Now I fully understand they will... they could try to stop me from doing it, but, uh, I've made my decision and we're going forward." To oblivion; it's just a shame he's destroying so many lives as he makes his way down the path. Democratic politicians have to stand up for America... NOW. And not symbolically, not non-bindingly, not Steny Hoyer-like. Bush has to be reigned in for the good of our children and our country and our world.

Unless we countrymen and women have completely lost our collective minds, the day will come soon when the republicans and the rest of us insist that bush and cheney both resign from office.
Even if intelligence evidence points to sinister plans from Iran, an escalation to send troops across the border into Iran should be considered high treason, especially knowing what we know of how we were mis-led into the Iraq disaster.
If all we have as a nation is a military to destroy life, sans political wisdom, we're doomed.
bush and cheney have egregiously mis-led this nation. For that, only resignation or impeachment are palpable. If that idea is too much for a weak country of countrymen and women, then may I suggest ......

"And if I die before I wake, I pray the lord the two of them to take!"

The single biggest argument against impeaching President Bush is Vice President Cheney. Do these guys know what they are doing, or what?

Of course, there is the dream scenario: We successfully impeach Bush. Cheney, outraged by the conviction, drops over dead from a heart attack. All eyes turn to President Pelosi!

I encourage you and your readers to take a few minutes and see:

http://www.usalone.com/cgi-bin/transparency.cgi?paper=1&qnum=pet45

It's a list of the 25 most recent comments made by real Americans participating in an online poll/letter-writing campaign concerning the impeachment charges recently filed against Vice President Cheney, which are now being evaluated by the House Judiciary Committee. The participation page is at:

http://www.usalone.com/cheney_impeachment.php

Since this campaign began, three members of Congress have signed on as co-sponsors, in part due to hearing from their constituents.
