YOU DON'T THINK BUSH IS CRAZY ENOUGH TO JUST RUSH AHEAD AND ATTACK SYRIA AND IRAN ON HIS OWN... DO YOU?

>

Is it possible that Bush is courting impeachment? Or, if not impeachment, removal from office due to mental incapacity? In the bright glare of his dismal failure last night-- and with the British hustling their troops out of Iraq as fast as they can-- Bush may be following up his bellicose remarks about Iran and Syria... by attacking them!

I'm not making this up. Steve Clemons at The Washington Note asks if Bush has declared a "secret war" against both countries, something akin to what Nixon did with Cambodia. "Washington intelligence, military and foreign policy circles are abuzz today with speculation that the President, yesterday or in recent days, sent a secret Executive Order to the Secretary of Defense and to the Director of the CIA to launch military operations against Syria and Iran. The President may have started a new secret, informal war against Syria and Iran without the consent of Congress or any broad discussion with the country... Some are suggesting that the Consulate raid may have been designed to try and prompt a military response from Iran-- to generate a casus belli for further American action. If this is the case, the debate about adding four brigades to Iraq is pathetic. The situation will get even hotter than it now is, worsening the American position and exposing the fact that to fight Iran both within the borders of Iraq and into Iranian territory, there are not enough troops in the theatre. Bush may really have pushed the escalation pedal more than any of us realize."

Until today I never thought for one moment we would actually see a Bush impeachment trial. The political calculus is just so stacked against it. But now... Republican electeds are starting to cut this guy loose as fast as they can. Looks like McConnell and Lieberman may have a lot of filibustering on their hands this year.

The only reason I can see to send more troops is to have boots on the ground to physically confront Iran.

If you thought Iraq was a neocon's wet dream, wait for the nuclear bunker busters in Iraq 2: Even Quagmireier.

"Everyone wants to go to Baghdad...real men want to go to Tehran".

Remember that quote?

These crazy f$#@ers actually believe their own rhetoric.

We should all be scared.

The military needs to refuse to take his orders. At some point someone who is sane must stop this madman.

I think that Bush has been so well manipulated by his eastern masters (Isreal, House Saud and Iran) that he's wasted men and resources to the point where we are a third world power.

Iran would love to be attacked by the U.S. Hormuz would be closed trapping a carrier battlegroup and an army of 130-160K men behind imposible supply lines. Iran would surge into Iraq, taking many US forces while pounding sunni (Saudi) oil resources. World economy would colapse (not that it's all that steady). Either the Iranian caliphate would be established or WWIII. Nucking Futz!

When he first named the "Axis of Evil" it was obvious that he fully intends to attack Iran.

Unless we countrymen and women have completely lost our collective minds, the day will come soon when the republicans and the rest of us insist that bush and cheney both resign from office.
Even if intelligence evidence points to sinister plans from Iran, an escalation to send troops across the border into Iran should be considered high treason, especially knowing what we know of how we were mis-led into the Iraq disaster.
If all we have as a nation is a military to destroy life, sans political wisdom, we're doomed.
bush and cheney have egregiously mis-led this nation. For that, only resignation or impeachment are palpable. If that idea is too much for a weak country of countrymen and women, then may I suggest ......

"And if I die before I wake, I pray the lord the two of them to take!"
