BETTY MONTGOMERY-- ANOTHER GAY-BASHING, CLOSETED GAY REPUBLICAN TRYING TO PUT ONE OVER ON THE VOTERS
Betty Montgomery, a longtime key player in the corrupt and degenerate Ohio Republican political machine, is not, as far as I know or have reason to believe, a sexual predator or a pederast or anything more than a garden variety self-loathing, closeted, gay, Republican hypocrite. When I first started writing about her last year, because of her key role in the Thomas Noe CoinGate scandals-- she was the State Auditor and helped set up the system to bilk Ohio taxpayers out of tens of millions of dollars to fatten Republican Party campaign coffers-- I never even bothered to mention that she's a closeted lesbian.
It was another case, like Mark Foley's, where "everybody" knew it. And Montgomery's case resembles Foley's in many ways. Both, while secretly gay, were doing all they could to make life miserable for gay men and women. Montgomery aggressively supported a truly monstrous anti-gay constitutional amendment that even conservative Republicans like Governor Taft and Attorney General Petro opposed as too extreme. And like Foley, Montgomery's political campaign is almost entirely based on scaring parents about "Internet sexual predators" who prey on children. Her ads don't mention any of her GOP brethren.
But "everybody" knowing about a homophobic closet case, only means that the political and media Establishment-- and other gay people-- know. The churchgoers in FL-16 certainly didn't know Foley was either gay or a someone with a yen for young boys. And the churchgoers in Ohio have no idea that Montgomery is another closeted gay. The Establishment has covered up for her, just the way they covered up for Foley. And, except for her blatant hypocrisy, she's entitled to her privacy. But stirring up hatred against gay people for political gain is not something that should be lightly dealt with.
One of Montgomery's closest political allies and her single biggest contributor, Summit County GOP boss, Alex Arshinkoff, is another well-known virulently homophobic closet case. And unlike Montgomery, his behavior has been so blatant and outrageous that the media has blown the whistle on him and aired accusations that he is a sexual predator.
Yet Betty Montgomery, certainly aware of this, accepts his support and his cash, in her bid for Attorney General, an office she is clearly unfit to hold. If she wins, will she investigate Arshinkoff? Of course not. It's all well and good to flame passions about "Internet sexual predators" in order to milk votes from poor saps who let their pastors convince them that GOP stands for God's Own Party (not unlike fanatic mullahs claiming Hizzbullah is the "party of God"), but when it comes to the nitty gritty... Betty Montgomery is just another grotesque Republican hypocrite.

I agree. I've heard rumors for years (decades?) that Montgomery is a lesbian. I'm usually not into "outting" gays, but it is truly shameful that she's such a political whore that she'll sell her soul for a political office. I truly despise her not only for her anti-gay rhetoric, but her willingness to do anything and everything for personal gain, no matter what the cost.
Who is Betty Montgomery fooling? All her commericals claim to be 'tough on child predators' However, who was the Wood County Prosecutor in 1987 when a CONVICTED child molester who was a priest, served only 30 days for his sex crimes against a 14 year old, and then went onto have his record expunged with no vocal opposition from Betty Montgomery? Where was Betty's Tough on Crime speech then? Why did she allow that to happen? And, why does she now attack Marc Dann for defending a childmolester (a defense we're all entitled to) when she WAS the prosecutor in a 1987 case that allowed a CONVICTED child molester to serve only 30 days, have his record expunged and work with kids another 16 years until public pressure forced the Vatican to remove him? Well-noted GBLT activist Lynn Greer published her list of endorsed candidates and said she homes the some day, Montgomery will "come out.''
Montgomery will NEVER come out, because she knows Republicans typically are homophobic (except, of course, the congressmen that prey on young pages) and don't support gays or gay issues. She's a perfect example of the "don't ask, don't tell" mentality, because people suspect, but no one has the balls (or ovaries as the case may be) to publicly ask her whether she's a knob polisher or a carpet muncher.
The media in Columbus has known for years that Montgomery was shacking up with ex-Speaker of the Ohio House - JoAnn Davidson. Davidson is now second in command for the National Republican Party.
Montgomery gives hypocrisy a bad name by attacking gay people when she be one.
Hopefully, the voters of Ohio will toss her out of office for good. She is a worthless person who has spent years fronting for crooked Republican office holders.

I hate Betty Montgomery! Down With Tyranny, political and professional terrorism and wrecking innocent people's lives. Ms. Montgomery is nothing more than a bully. Why would the gay and lesbian community want to claim her? Most are probably too good.
